Did Galen Scott or Kye Stuart make the NFL? Did Boomer play LB in the NFL? Those are three of our best LBs ever. That is not a good barometer for college players.

Bello was primarily a pass rusher for ISU. Illini had Duane Smoot and Carroll Phillips at DE in 2016. They didn't need rushers. They had Hardy Nickerson at MLB. (All three of them are in the NFL BTW). Bello is not a Will linebacker. That leaves strong side, but Illinois used a STAR. Unfortunately that leaves Bello out. ISU and Illinois ran very different defenses. He did not fit what they needed, but he did for ISU. Good players can get burried even on bad rosters, it was a good move for him.

sounds like you know way more about their rotation than i do and all good relevant info. But according to quote, Cubit said he wasn't good enough .. he didn't say he was a bad fit. And how does an NFL caliber player go thru your weak football program for 4 1/2 years, and you don't find a way to get him on field more ? He was 3rd string most of his time there, and now he is on NFL 2 deep for Browns. Note, as bad as Browns are, their RUSH defense is 7th in yards per game and 1st in yards per rush in all of NFL.

anyway. I do acknowledge your general point ... and I've been known to exaggerate my point to make a point on occasion .. ( e.g. the whole AD Barry Alvarez is a Wus thing)

Back to real point .. way to go BJ Bello !!! And ... U of I, please send more our way !!

U of I, the program where talent goes to die! To make an argument that U of I football has been anything other than a complete cluster is ridiculous. Any Big Ten program can point to NFL level talent but considering the flow of talent from U of I to ISU that has found success at ISU and beyond after not being able to contribute to a miserable program like U of I is only a further indictment of the wealth of riches U of I pisses away every year. Give me a break.

Looks like the James O’Shaughnessy revenge game will take place in New England next week.

Pats traded for Shag then cut him. Jags up big early.

I can't stand the Vikings but very happy for Zimmer. Lockport guy. Great coach.

He also recovered Pittsburgh's late onside kick.

Bears will not pick-up the 2018 option for guard Josh Sitton. This should only help Cam Lee as he tries to impress the new coaching staff in an effort to make the 53-man roster this August.

With Cam having tackle-length arms and with the Bears employing one of the most respected and highly thought-of O-Line coaches in Harry Hiestand, I wonder if Cam will get a look at RT in the off-season? For a guy like Cam the more positions he can play the better chance to stick.

Cam Lee might be one of those players, like the other Cam, that ends up being on the Bear roster for years and years just because of his versatility. I can see Lee being the reserve lineman of choice for the Bears next year.

It looks like the Bears are going to either spend big on a center (I expect Whitehair to go back to guard) and draft a tackle to protect their biggest asset.

Bears will be SPENDING here in the coming months. Expect a #1 WR pickup (Cam will hopefully bounce back from the knee and be the #2 again) and Jimmy Graham has been floated as a possible TE.

Cam Lee following in the footsteps of Mike Leidtke; Versatile OLinemen that teams love to have around. Cody White also was seen as a versatile player, great in the locker room and willing to do what was asked. Great to see a tradition growing, ISU = OLine U!?!

Cameron Lee was waived today by the Bears. Too bad.

Hopefully he can find another team soon.

Yeah, when they drafted that monster center/guard from Iowa, writing was on the wall. I'm confident Lee will land somewhere.
