OT: Beer

Say what you will about the Illini but selling beer at redbird and Hancock would increase attendance of casual fans, and turn it into something folks who dont have a rooting interest in the birds would want to attend.

More for the casual fan but will there be limitations around consumption? I'd be worried to take my family into a game with a bunch of drunks. Games and experiences are quickly ruined because of this.

so you would not take your kids to a bulls/blackhawks/blues/bears/cubs/sox/cardinals game?

No because I am not a fan of any of those teams.

Geez, I like beer as much as the next guy, but people can't get by a couple hours w/o a beer? Really? I tailgate before the football game, hit the bar before a basketball game, enjoy some refreshments, then go the game. No big deal I can't have one more. Hard for me to believe it will bring in very many more people in the end.

I know people that tailgate, and then go home when the game starts. Beer might get them to go the game, but is that a good thing?

You really think students will get belligerently drunk off of $7 beers over the course of a two hour game?? The students that want to be drunk at games get drunk before the game anyways. When I was there it was the only way to get through the god awful games.
