looks like we are going to have to get the passing game going elsewise the pickings may be slim as the NIU defensive front looks strong

The NIU front seven looks as good as advertised so far. There are open Redbird receivers but nothing going in the passing game so far. Defense looks very good but how long can they hold up with zero offensive support?

Is our OL that bad or can we really just not run the ball? I get our qb isn't playing well but we gotta open up some lanes.

Their run defense is elite. We aren't going to be able to do power runs on their front.

Need more QB reads and jet sweep action.

reminder, these guys won the MAC last year. And they did it with defense first, then run game.

While that may be true, Davis has missed a series of easy passes that has zero to do with their defense.

The excuses only go so far.

I thought you were previously claiming NIU lost a couple of big studs on defense so ISU should be in good shape?

asking cuz I was a believer...good news it is 3-0, only in 2nd and ISU has the ball. Davis has to be able to make some of these throws that he has missed

The rain is not going to help the ISU passing game. I am really impressed with the Defense so far. Playing very well. If not for one big pass play by NIU, even as bad as the ISU offense has been, it is probably 0-0 at this point. That one big play to the NIU tight end is the difference so far.

I posted number of things .. many acknowledging how strong their interior defense was and that they lost 2 stud DEs. Davis needs to play better and we would be moving the chains some. But I said many times, it would be very hard between the tackles. And my concerns with Davis accuracy go back to August 2018 and I was pretty much alone in my thoughts then .. right.

You panic and turn quick bro ..

I missed most of the first quarter. What I've seen has been pretty ugly. But that missed tackle on the TE has been the play of game.
