Yeah, just like EC was a big part of this season. I'll believe when I see it. Until then it's all hopeful talk.

Step away from the keyboard for 24 hours and reevaluate.

EC is a true freshman.
Many true Freshman doing just fine in this conference. We saw two of them today. EC couldn't even go on the floor!

tough part of EC not playing is that he was on a team that was absolutely DESPERATE for a PG.

Romine isn't going anywhere. Milik too this loss hard. He was unconsolable leaving the court. He isn't going anywhere. First time I heard coaches say on wjbc after the game that everyone will be back

If Romine comes back, I hope there are zero lingering issues.

Good chance a current player, not a junior, gets his degree before the start of next season. Not sure if that would be it for his ISU playing days, but you never know.

Listen, this is based on everyone coming back. Which may or may not happen. Probably won't.

But I really like our roster for next year. Copeland, Chastain and Romine (he's a big question mark) have all been through the program now so that lessens the learning curve substantially.

*Fayne. Yarbrough. Evans. Tinsley. Copeland. I like that starting lineup ALOT.

*Williams. David. Bruninga. Clarence. Romine. Chastain.

*Gassman. (IImpressed me overall this year). Hein.

*Not including newcomers.

That's a deep squad. If players are willing to sacrifice for the betterment of the team, we won't always be the most talented team - even though that's pretty good talent, man - but chemistry-wise I think we've got something rolling here. I think a very good foundation has been laid and players know the system and how Dan wants to play.

We should be good. IMO really good. But that opinion doesn't mean :eek:bscene-tolietpush: right now.

RedbirdFellas, just remember. Winning makes EVERYONE look better. Buy in. Lifetime WINNING memories are available.

So DON'T SCREW IT UP! :D

If so, he should move on or hang it up for the betterment of the team. And I like the kid. I believe if he's healthy body, mind and spirit he'd be a significant contributor next year. If he's not, though...

I hadn't heard that. Seems like great news.

I listened to postgame and that's not quite what they said. Announcers said it more than coaches did.

Unpopular opinion, but I do hope everyone's back. In saying that, I do hope that playing time from 6-12th man gets rearranged.

Getting used to the drive home after another poor showing in the championship. I've started think about what next season might look like. I'm guessing we have 3 transfers. I'm not feeling great about Milik staying anymore. I'd be shocked if Romine was back. The other...a bit of a surprise, a la DJ Clayton.

I still think the team will be good. Just not as dominant as they could be.

MY isn’t going anywhere. Not sure who would take a turn over machine. He needs to improve his handles.

If you think he needs to improve his handles...what do you think the rest of the team needs to do! There are a few giving Hein a pass! We lack someone that can fascilitate the offense! Not enough ball movement!

Whoever is on the roster next year I hope that roster can learn and apply 3 things that destroyed this season:

1--learn what a good shot is. This team never did.
2--value the basketball. This team didn't care about turnovers.
3--play defense without fouling. We were always in foul trouble this season.

Not one of these 3 things take an ounce of god given talent. That's the best part.

If next year's roster can learn and apply these three aspects we might be able to avoid the almost yearly humiliation on Sunday in front of a National TV audience.

My Bold take is that Porter leaves to go to a big school and Custer goes with him. Even bolder take, birds will be dancing next year

Popular opinion with me. Stability and familiarity can be a real plus. Everyone of those guys should get better, and if a couple of them get a lot better, we are in good shape to make a run.

Plenty of teams would love a guy who puts up 16+ppg, 6+rebounds per game, and 4+assists per game,

No while avging 5 TOS pg

I honestly don’t get all the Romine hype. He did nothing at UTEP to deserve all this hype.
I also don’t understand the situation that prevented him from playing. If it’s physical, then he should have redshirted. If it’s emotional, I would think being on the court is the best place to clear your head.
I’ll also be surprised if EC is on this team next year.

And let me just state the obvious. I don't see Matt Hein anywhere close to a starting point guard.

I love The Prez. I really do. Standing-O for his heart, his guts, his never-ending effort, his kickass TEAM attitude. Let's be honest. He made some big shots for us this year. A few that were really big! And frankly, he had a good Valley tournament. (How could you not love his air-ball assists?!!) He is everything you ask for, effort-wise, as a coach. I know Dan loves him. Give Matt Hein credit for HANGING HIS BALLS OUT THERE. That's a leader right there.

We cannot ask again him again to carry full-time PG load. I'm comfortable with giving him limited spot-time if we get in trouble. 5, maybe 10 min a game. He's got the experience now to handle it, and I would trust him in that role! But IMO, he's got to come out of the lineup if we want to step up.

That means ELIJAH CLARENCE MUST TAKE RESPONSIBILITY for his own betterment and for his own game. It's on no one but him. He wasn't close to being ready this year. BIG summer for him.

I expect Copeland to be good. Question...he's got 3 big scorers ahead of him, plus a kid (Tinsley) who came on strong last 1/3 of the year. Will Copeland sacrifice some scoring (while still possessing the ability to score) for the betterment of our team?? Cause that's what he's gonna have to do next year.

All those players plus newcomers is over the scholarship limit. Someone’s gotta go.

Yeah, with four incoming - and Dan is still recruiting - something has to give.

If anyone is close to the program, I wish they would look at Colorado 5th year transfer Tory Miller. 6'9 250 center.

In a world that benefits ISU athletics, I'd love to see a friendly booster pay for Hein's schooling with a strong job recommendation - maybe somewhere in coaching down the road - in exchange for an open scholarship. Of course, I know that's not legal and would NEVER suggest such a thing. NEVER!

I'll tell ya this. Hein's got a coaching future.
