Hell of a game. Oldest teams in the Valley meet for the championship. Will Drake have anything left with a short bench? Hoping they win and holding out hope that Loyola sneaks in with their 30 something NET. Otherwise don’t want them taking another MVC trophy as they exit the conference.

Drake had more determination and did not play dumb. Mo State had more talent but did not play as a team at times - made numerous stupid plays - just missing that intangible, good teams have. Mo State was up 5 points with 1:45 to play - commit three bad fouls. At the end of OT - if Tucker DeVries is wearing an ISU uniform - no foul gets called - ball out of bounds to Mo State - I have lived it before.

Good for Drake and the DeVries family - they deserved it.

Watching the half-time show for the DU-MOST game . . . does anyone else think Jerry Palm looks like an undertaker?

Isaac Gassman, for some unknown reason, made an appearance on the Enterprise Center video scoreboard while starting lineups were being announced; for maybe 5 seconds, the video screen said that #0 Isaac Gassman from Ottawa, IL. was in the lineup.

Well that is going to hurt the Valley financially unless Loyola wins a couple games.

While we will not have multiple NCAA bids this year, we should have multiple NIT bids. UNI will be the first MVC team in the NIT since 2019 when Loyola got the auto-bid. A 24-10 Drake and a 23-10 Missouri State should both have a chance to make the field (some sites currently project all 3 to be in).

The last time the MVC got multiple teams in the NIT was back in 2012 when Illinois State (20-13) and UNI (19-13) both made it as at-larges. The MVC had 2 or more bids in every season from 2004-2012 with Wichita St. taking the trophy in 2011. The last time the MVC had 3 teams was in 2008 with Illinois State (24-9), Creighton (21-10) and Southern Illinois (17-14). While we all wanted a multi-bid Valley in the NCAA tournament this year and hope to get back to it next year, it is going to be nice to see likely the first multi-bid NIT year since 2012. It says good things about where the league is at prior to some major additions.

Thinking back to how many were upset that a crap team like Loyola that could barely compete in the laughable Horizon was joining the MVC.
All they did was run roughshod over the entire conference pretty much since they joined.
You know Murray State and Belmont are licking their chops to follow the “Loyola model” by destroying everyone for 4-6 years and then moving on.
Time to call the Valley out for what it really is…a doormat for teams to wipe their feet on as they move on to greener pastures.

You realize part of the Valley accepting them was for them to update facilities and increase spending. They did both and saw dividends. Valpo has not held up their end of the bargain and they are a bottom feeder.
