This seems fair. I’d prefer we keep Lieb as a backup, Bring back the core with another big and a couple bigger guards via the Portillo’s Player Portal (why have they not jumped on that opportunity?) to challenge them. And if they overtake them, all the better for fans. Maybe a freshman will step up as a consistent shooter. Or Pence 🤷‍♂️

We need a size and speed boost
And a perimeter shooting boost
And a free throw shooting boost
Need a guy that can make the all defensive team
And a big that has the length to dunk and block shots readily
Anything else?
And a couple of All-Americans. Shoot I'll even take 3rd team'ers!

I've always thought Sissoko could've been some help, but even I'm tired of waiting. He obviously didn't impress the coaches. Played 34 minutes in 9 games this year, shouldn't be hard for him to figger it out, or hard for coach to explain the future to him.

Lieb, I'm somewhat mixed on him - as has been said, 7'1 can't be taught, wasn't awful on the boards. Seems like it might be helpful to have a 7 footer around during practice. But maybe that's not a luxury we can afford. Not sure how much help he'll be down the road.

Gotta get stronger on the boards. All around for that matter. But gotta bring in some inside strength.
Is having a 7 footer really going to help in practice when the top 4 teams in the Valley’s strengths are at the guard position? I get that all might change next year if Schwartz and DeVries leave.

Makes no sense to keep him around as a practice player. Lieb was completely useless once we got into Valley play. Almost 30% of his rebounds came against Lourdes and an undersized bad SLU team.

Next year is a big year for the program, with the opportunity to take a huge step forward. We will likely have a lot of experience even if we do lose a few this offseason. This will likely change but we currently have 8 scholarships for class of 2025. I'm very interested to see how Pedon handles the high school recruiting cycle. I wouldn't be surprised to see him land his first JUCO for 2025.

I think Pedon retains Lieb... he must see potential with all the starts he was given early in the year. Isn't his dad pretty well connected with illinois high school basketball? Maybe a relationship he doesn't want to damage.

Sissoko 100%, Luke and Dalton would be next on my list of guys we need to upgrade from. I like having Lieb as a backup big, can’t teach 7’1 around the rim
Can you teach squeezing the ball if it's in, or anywhere near your hands? I think you can.

Who are the 2??
Eh...I like Banks. He likes to drive the ball and had a decent A/T ratio. Can't make you guys happy. When they shoot too much, you beg for them to drive, when they drive they need to shoot more ;). I imagine the plan was to keep JK, Mal, Kasubke, and Davis shooting from distance. You gotta have someone keeping defenses honest. Another thing that's hard to replace is experience of 120 games played at the D-1 level. Disco? I love his energy. Though... I wouldn't be a good coach in this environment, because I'm a loyalty guy.

I like a point guard that can drive make a quick decision and has awareness of the shot clock. Not one that drives in too far with no idea on what to do, dribbles sideline to sideline and then basically leaves us with no good shot.

Why can’t mid majors rebel and establish their own post season tournament akin to the FCS football championship? We are now at the point that who really cares anymore about the NCAA tournament, it’s ever changing selection indicators, it’s ridiculous NIL allowance and portal transfers, and the Big 10 getting 8-9 tournament bids every year? The P5 is controlling the NCAA and as a result, the NCAA is a week and feckless governing body. We need a Spartacus inspired revolt.
