So it appears it's going to be UTA and UIC. Then Murray and UMKC once Murray figures out football. Those are the four teams it seems. Sad NKU refused step up. If the MVC ever sponsors football then they will go for the Dakotas but no reason to until then.

From BCPanther from MVC board

Notes from Matt Brown today.

1--The Valley has no interest in any of the Dakotas due to distance, budget and population.

2--Milwaukee and Northern Kentucky were contacted early on but could not commit to increased budgets across all Valley major sports (MBB, WBB, VB, Baseball) so they were quickly dismissed.

3--No strong consensus for any individual applicant in 12/19 meeting. Arlington, UIC and Murray (if they can figure out football) still likely to be added at some point this spring. Arlington is the only one school that could potentially start in the league in 22-23 with the others coming in 23-24.

4--Kansas City's presentation and plan was the most impressive of any of the applicants and has caused the schools on the fence about them to be willing to take a deeper look.

This was debunked by Matt Brown himself. I don’t know why BCPanther makes up these lies, but I’ve noticed him doing this in the past.

Maybe he is crazzymark and BCPanther is his nickname?
I started thinking about my post and how it could be interpreted that I was throwing shade at Crazzymark and that wasn’t my intention. I was playing off of TBS comment about it being crazy that BCPanther would make something up. Crazy being the operative word. I did not mean any disrespect to our friend Crazzymark.

If only Loyola wasn't leaving. Having them with Belmont and Murray State would have been great.

The other (supposed) three remaining schools in the running (UIC, UMKC, UTA) are all non-football. Be interesting to see if/when one/more of them are selected if it still perceived private vs public or if it becomes no/non-scholarship vs schorlarship football. The publics would certainly have the numbers at that point.

Let me just say the person that told me out on Murray was SIU connected and they probably thought they had more pull than they do.

So interesting thing from that article linked above from CBS Sports:
More programs also continue to have dialogue with the conference.
So mystery teams?

Also this:
The league has also communicated to members that the conference will be moving to a 20-game league scheduling beginning in 2022-23.
At least we are staying with a balanced schedule, hopefully. Though with 12 teams, I'd expect a 22 game slate (11 teams twice each).

UTA sure moved on quickly They jumped in bed with a new conference quicker than a drunk sorority girl Makes me glad we passed on them. I would still like to see the MVC go to 16 teams
