Thrilled to see Drake in the tourney. I like their chances in beating the Shockers too. Loyola gets to potentially play vs the 2 most hated point guards in the country

Wouldn’t it be nice to one day have a conversation about the ISU match up in the up-coming tourney? Instead we spend all our time gravy-training off other successful Valley programs, in addition to dreaming about other successful programs that were once in the Valley.
God, we’re so pathetic.

Yea it's always tough this time of year watching other schools make it into the tournament and we continue to drift further away from it. Schools that I don't even know what state they're in making it in and hearing "it's their first appearance since 2010" as if that's a long time.

Obviously ISU has 1.5 million reasons to sit back and do nothing like they usually do and that's what I anticipate them doing. But I wonder what it has cost ISU to become completely irrelevant in basketball.

I have been saying this for some time now. We are "damned if we do and damned if we don't." I still think we do not know the whole story in regards to the financial aspect of this matter.

Thank you larry lyons.

I wish ISU took basketball as serious as a school like Grand Canyon. They fired a guy who was considered a legend in the Phx area. A decent coach who got to the conference title game multiple times, but didn’t have what it took to get over the hump. They decided it was time to part ways in order to get the program to that next level. Some of this sounds a bit familiar.

now they are in the ncaa tournament. Yes, they have incredible financial support, but they prioritize basketball. Decided they had seen enough and took a chance. Wish ISU did the same.

Great point jamar. I was thinking the same thing as I watched Grand Canyon roll New Mexico State Saturday night as disrespected #1 seed underdogs in their conference tournament title game. How do they get the enthusiasm with their fan base in general (home games and scheduling), then have the guts to fire Dan M. And THEN spend a good amount on Drew. It's amazing. We aren't them but I can tell you we are dropping further and further down in no only mid major relevance but how about the state of Illinois college basketball relevance. If we don't wake up we will be Northern Illinois very soon. Heck, I think SIU Edwardsville has had as much success as ISU the last few years. Let that sink in for a minute.....
