I can’t really disagree with you. I like the what they signed up for. Like we said no to the big ten so we could sign up for the MVC. But for those that really believe we are almost always a one bid league, doesn’t it make sense to be in one you can win occasionally? Of course this year no such conference existed 🤪

Now it appears everyone from Loyola, Drake, and UNI coming back next year. Hello darkness my old friend.

Jesus, we’re screwed in 2021/22.
On the bright side if all these players come back then the valley should get a lot of love and have a pretty high net. Perhaps that will help us get a couple of juco bigs and help retain our talent.

doesn't that also mean there may be a lot of players, especially freshman, without a place to land (?)

I’m not arguing the committee is going to do drake any favors, I’m simply arguing I think they’re in a better place than 17 ISU. Today’s game was at least single digits late in the second half. 17 title game was a complete and utter beat down. I may have blacked out but don’t recall the lead being in single digits at any point in 2nd half
Drake is now at a 47 Net. I think they are out unless the committee takes into consideration the injuries and Hemphill's potential return.

Drake has to pray for a lot of chalk this week. The ice begins to thaw with every conference tourney. I'm pulling for Drake but it's touch and go.

I think there are only about 8 teams they need to worry about. Being a Drake player or fan sounds pretty fun right now compared to what we are dealing with! Fingers crossed they get in and win a game.

Will they all come back if Devries is poached? How many follow him?

The only thing about the NET is that Colgate sits at 8 or 9. This has to lead the committee to think it’s not the end all, be all metric. Not sure Drake is that high in other metrics like Kenpom either though.

I'd like to point out that Bracketology had Drake at last 4 in. Basing it off of ISU's record year a few years back, Drake does not stand a chance.

been thinking about this. probably comes down to how much the committee considers bad losses vs. good wins.

their win over loyola is a better win than most other bubble teams can claim — particularly among mid majors. but that’s it for their resume. they didn’t beat anyone in the non-con and they have two quad 3 losses.

my gut says they’re first team out though i hope they make it. would help the valley to get a pair.

CBS has DU as a Wed nite, first four team.
Lunardi has them as an 11-seed.
SBNation has them as an 11-seed.
Katz has them as a Wed nite, first four team.

That's pretty much where ISU was before getting hammered by Drake. They were in, then they weren't. They were on the edge but not quite in when they got hammered by WSU. Drake played better against Loyola . . . but with a week left to go, I won't be at all surprised if they don't make it.

FWIW, everybody has Loyola as a 9-seed . . . which makes me want Loyola to reach the Final Four again.
Pretty much everyone now has DU as a last four in . . . They were just helped with Xavier's loss to Butler, as that probably moved Xavier off the bubble. But there's still a lot of teams who could be bubble busters . . .
