I believe the difference between Muller's reprimand and McCarty's suspension is because Muller called out a specific decision by the ref. McCarty basically blamed the refs for their loss.

Maybe he should have called a timeout, walked a few feet out on the court, and just stared at Jannsen: most of the home crowd would get it, but the sequel could never live up to the original.

there was a timeout shortly after the T, and he did something very similar to the Stallings Stare. not nearly as blatant as Stallings, but he made it obvious to everyone in the arena. the ref ran down to the far end of the court and wouldnt even look in muller's general direction.

It's really not too bad, Double Deuce. I still enjoy calling games. I have called very, very few T's. I did call one last month on a coach behaving badly. I did give him the courtesy of knowing exactly why he was T'ed up. I average one every 2 or 3 seasons.

The Stallings Stare involved Dan Muller picking up his 3rd foul right before the half at the Valley tourny

There's no one who can do the stare like Stallings did . . .

Stalling's was getting similar stares last year from many Pitt supporters.

Obviously they weren't as effective. ;)
