Agree that it’s a beautiful arena. In retrospect, it would have been cool if it was smaller/more intimidating.

I agree. I watched our women's v-ball team play at Bradley in their new Renaissance Arena. It's built for smaller audiences, like their woman's basketball and volleyball, but I guess the men's bball team will play an exhibition game or two in there as well. It was so much nicer because it's smaller. I wish for our lesser attended sports we could have something like that. I know in Bradley's case it made a lot of sense build it since their men's team would still play in the civic center and their women's teams could play in a smaller place. When you go to a volleyball game at Redbird it feels odd with all the empty seats.. but oh well. It makes no economic sense to build a smaller arena for them. I don't know if the new practice facility could encompass something like that, but it would be nice.

as you stated spending money on building a small arena because students/alumni/faculty/fans do not have interest in attending the sport is a waste of money.

I think the one thing RBA could use is some more suites. Im not sure how to put them in, but right now there are just 2... or 1, right? I'd like to think there would be a way to get some suites in there. It is a great way to impress people and, based off how I have NEVER been able to get into any skybox at Hancock because they are always full of VIPs (and some of you guys), I'd think having some suites would be a good investment.

I draw arena/stadiums as a hobby (really, I am a nerd for the stuff but bad at math haha). I feel like there IS a way to do it. You would have to re-do the lower bowl and the retractable seats and POSSIBLY expand the concourse outward in some areas (if that is possible). It has been done before in arenas that are much like RBA (two bowls with one concourse).

They built that arena with the ability to expand. If you look inside, they really could add a lower bowl. I bet you one day in the far future they expand and the mens team moves there. Like RBA, the PCC needs, NEEDS, suites. It was built right at the time when suites were not being built outside of major venues. Like RBA, it CAN be done (see Hartford and Cincinnati).

I know a lot of people knock on the PCC, but I grew up with my parents taking me to every Rivermen home game (season tickets). It holds a place in my heart.

You and I share a hobby. It was always my favorite part about customizable madden/ncaa games and then got to be more detailed.
