Wouldn’t expect otherwise from Dan. It didn’t work out, but he’ll always be welcome back and cheered. His playing days and good moments from his coaching tenure provide more than enough.

He’ll bounce back quick no matter what he does.

While I agree that his comments were generally classy, he still invoked “unforeseen circumstances“ including injuries and COVID. It would be great for Dan to be truly introspective about where he finds himself. He could learn a lot if he took the path Porter did and humble himself to hone his talents as a game coach and a motivator under someone like Majerus. Those are at least the two areas where I think he can grow a lot. He is just 46. If he’s not willing to learn, I hope he finds success outside coaching. I certainly wish him the best.

I had more to do with Muller's dismissal than any of the daily cryers.

That is, nothing to do with it.

It took years for Porter to get there and perhaps Dan will too. Sometimes you have to step away to get the proper help, perspective, and evaluation. It's much harder when your immersed in it and doing everything to survive.

Quote from Muller:

“After an emotional day yesterday, and more time to talk to my players about this difficult situation, I have decided to step away and not coach this team the rest of the season,” Muller said in a news release. “I completely understand that playing for a coach that has been fired could be very difficult, and I do not want to be a distraction to my players."

Sorry if this is a repeat, but so many Muller related threads and topics I didn't see it. Here is the live stream of the Dan Muller radio show last night. Thought it was very enjoyable...

Thanks for posting that. Truly a class guy and we will be quite fortunate to find another coach who can demonstrate those qualities ... and he was right about those calls. :)
