I think we match up pretty well vs MO. ST. Benson's report on it said the Birds are going to take turns with Lewis and Fleming guarding Mosley, which imo is the best. Switch with him given our length and make him work for his shots as the defense can be really good with Lewis and Fleming.

-1st game Dan had Schmitt start on Prim because of his size and so Sy doesn't get in foul trouble. I wonder if we see that again.
-Freeman didn't play much towards the end of the 1st game because he was ineffective and our defense was really good with Freeman on the bench. As Freeman isn't 100% yet, I wonder if we might see Emon with his size and defensive ability.

I enjoyed this quote by Lewis after the game on Sunday "defense is my job, if i don't do that then I let down my teammates." Hopefully we carry the defense from the 2nd half of Sunday to the game tonight.

Illinois State +11

Over / Under 148.5
That's a big spread. I'm seeing it down to +10 on some books.

The other MVC games tonight:
Bradley @ Drake (DU -7) (????? If I was a betting man.....)
UNI @ Valpo (UNI-5)
INST @ SIU (SIU -4.5)

Three-in-five (at Missouri State, Evansville, at Evansville). The Valley did us no favors squeezing in a Friday make-up date for a team still trying to get their health and stamina legs back under them. Dan may feel there is a need to limit minutes Wednesday in order to get the roster through Sunday.

Boomer 80, Reggie 72

We currently have another three-in-five set for late February (at Bradley, Loyola-Chicago, at Southern Illinois).
This experience on short rest could come in handy in March.

He’s had ten years. I think time has told it’s tale on Dan. He needs to go.
took Porter Moser eleven to get to any postseason tournament, and fourteen to get to the Big Dance (coincidentally it was also the first time his team ever finished above fifth place in the conference regular season) ... it does happen

The whistles are out tonight. Both teams better adjust. This is not like the game in Normal where the refs let them bang

Chatman 2 fouls
Mosley 2 fouls
Schmidt 2 fouls
Prim 1 foul

All before the first break

Abdou struggling mightily. He has two fouls also.

Muller goes to zone because of the fouls and we give up two straight baskets.

these announcers suck. Were seeing a pattern, redbirds go inside and then get a rebound and then kick it out and hit a 3. Nice insightful analysis.
