Burford is a selfish punk...has a nice drive to the basket drawing in defenders and, instead of passing out to a wide open kinziger (which would have been an easy pass) for a wide open 3, Burford opts for a tough shot amongst many defenders that is swatted out of bounds. Burford has basketball skills but too often hurts the Redbirds team while trying to pad his own stats. Not surprising he averages more turnovers per game than assists.

I agree that he DEFINITELY wants his...and doesn't play as hard when he's not getting his. Yet, and I sigh as I say this...we need his scoring, his open court play, and ability to hit a shot inside the permimeter. Because he does get on a roll and he gets mucho credit for this win.

But I CRAVE a complete team where individuals look out for one another and make their teammates better players.

I'm happy for Coach that he can breathe post-game for a change. And I'm tough on Darius but he certainly brings value to our Redbirds. I'm just CRAVING ball movement and intelligent play.

Excited for next week!

There were some real nice developments in this game. Chase and Johnny played well, Miles kicked it out some and we hit the shots, and Dalton had a couple of big assists down the stretch. We could have folded in the second half but we bounced back. Far from perfect against lesser competition, but a lot to build on.

However, Burford did shoot 8-15 and probably hit the 3 to seal the game. 6-19 3s is a formula that gives you a chance to win. Foster had a couple kick outs for baskets. Also, it's a big help when the home team starts launching bricks.

I disagree on Buford. He’s the only one on one player who can consistently score. His late three was an absolute dagger. Most physical game this year. Our two bigs stood up to it pretty doggone well. Best game for Chase. A glimpse of what he will be. Plus made 3/4 from the line. The last two were clutch. Only 10 turnovers too. Someone previously said we weren’t gonna win another game. Glad they were wrong!!!! The kids played really hard and finally rewarded. Victory cigar on the lanai!!!!🤪

Me, personally, I have no problem with Burford. I like what he brings - if he can get in the lane for that little 12 footer, mostly money. For me, it's Kasubke I can do without. Lotsa shooting w/o much hope for making. Credit to him today, he did hit several. What was with Lewis, is he in the doghouse for good? I know I'm in a very small minority here, but I could stand to see Sissoko for 10-12 minutes per game. I still like what he brings (as long as he doesn't think he's a 3 point shooter).

We don’t win today’s game without Kasubke’s first half scoring. His shooting is so hit or miss, but I give him credit. He plays hard and doesn’t get discouraged if he misses a few shots. Unlike some others on this team.

I am fine with Sissoko staying the bench. He is always confused and out of place defensively. And that leads to him just fouling. Hes had two different head coaches and both realized he isn’t a guy we can rely on in the rotation.

Chase struggled early. They subbed him out quickly the first 3 times. He was finally assertive in the second half and did some damage. Good step forward. Good ft shooter for a big

Kinziger struggled early too. After the pick 3 at the top of the key, he stepped up his intensity. He was Pete Rose out there the rest of the night. He's not afraid to mix it up. Love his grit! Even skied for a big rebound late.

I thought Foster had fixed his free throw, but his last 4 looked awkward and Shaqish

Surprised there wasn't A 9 point play in the last seconds to tie it up. One 3+1, a hold off the ball and 2 technicals on the bench. 6-7 from the line. Would have seemed a fitting ISU ending.

For the first time, Chase looked like a man who belonged out there instead of a boy who wasn’t sure. Preview of things to come? If only Malachi could find his shot and Kasubke and Lewis could be consistent, we could win a few more. I know—-koolaid!

Lewis can’t stay on the floor because he’s constantly in foul trouble. Doesn’t seem like you watched the game or looked at the box score today.
