Good riddance as coaches like him (Hinson too) bring entire conference down. Can certainly play ball but can not coach.

Hinson and Simmons bring the conference down? They are two of the most tenured coaches the conference has seen in recent memory. Both love the conference and Marty would have loved for this to be his last job, it probably is Barrys. Barry, more so than Marty is a vocal advocate for this conference and did something with nothing this past season.

Marty's offense was good, a lot of screen action and mismatches throughout, he just couldn't recruit at a high level. Do you think guys like Colt Ryan, DJ Balentine, and Ryan Taylor have the success they do without being in that offense? I'm not sure they do.

Marty was fighting an uphill battle trying to get Evansville back to relevance, specifically recruiting in our own conference. Why go to Evansville when you can come to Normal, Chicago, or heck, even Cedar Falls.

If he's willing, I bet UE alum and former assistant Chris Hollender gets the job. He has hopped around a lot lately but so is the life of an assistant.

Chris Hollander of Mattoon IL! Current assistant of Cuonzo Martin, was also with him at MSU.

Tenure, without success, has a negative connotation, IMO. We can agree to disagree but i feel their image combined with their track record leaves a lot to be desired. I hope neither of these coaches ever come near ISU's program.

Since the coaching change, Evansville has had two recruits open back up their recruitment. Not sure if these are big losses or not.
