Of course you can, I don't get your point.

I can support the players and program...and want a winning coach! Nothing wrong with that!

I don't disagree. I was responding the guy that was gloating under the assumption everyone that posted is blindly supporting Dan. Whether you're happy with Dan or not you can support this year's team and hope for positive outcome.

Loyola not even good. Worst team in last 3 years. And we score 50 at home.

We are who we thought we were. The 9th seed.

Hardest part of this is watching what is going on in Peoria and Carbondale. Everything is relative. And we are relatively awful compared to our rivals.

I am not sure we’re going to beat Evansville

As others have said, our players ARE working hard. But that's not enough--we need competent schematics, fundamental skills, and leadership. I highly doubt any posters here have a personal gripe with our boys either. They know that this trainwreck falls squarely on Coach Muller.

We continue to show that we have ZERO identity on both ends of the floor. Our ball handling and passing are atrocious, which is surprising since we're a guard / wing oriented team with very little underneath. (To be fair, we don't even try to score underneath.) We don't earn free throws or attempt to get easy, close buckets. Bad screens everywhere. Random sub patterns. Consistently bad positioning on defense. Player regression. Poor shot selection. The list goes on and on and on. Honestly, this program has turned into the party sampler pack of bad basketball.

Back to my weekend. I've been on the Muller train longer than most, but that's over. This is embarrassing.

We're better than this.

Agree with most of that, except your analysis of Loyola. They are tied for for first in the valley and have their second best winning percentage in 35 years. Even though 50 points is pretty bad, it is more points than their last two opponents have scored off of them. As far as your other comments, I am right there with you.

Another just absolutely pathetic performance. If Muller has any brains - he has to know he is an embarrassment to his Aluma Mater and it is time to step back and move on.

The team plays with no discipline - I swear they act like it a pickup game on a playground. The sloppiness with the ball is completely unacceptable. This is a Disgrace to ISU and Redbird Basketball. Going almost 10 minutes - 9:54 of game time without scoring is beyond words. Yes, the Birds last scored in the first half with 4:23 left and did not score in the second half for the first 5:31. There is no way to defend that, period.

Most memorable part of ISU season will be wrecking UNI at-large. That Colorado win will not be enough for the Panthers. ISU NET at year end might be over 300.

As I watched the offense today, i thought I was watching a Juco game with the three ball chuck fest and horrible turnovers.

Then I listen to the post game and Dan says he instructed his team to shoot a lot of 3 pointers today.

How can anyone take this guy seriously?

Yep... they will get torn apart by everyone for that loss. They’ll need to win three in STL to be safe

Feels like a situation where a good coach could come in next year and have some decent success with this crop of players.

It’ll be great to hear the talking heads harpoon the UNI resume, pointing to a “horrendous loss to a pathetic ISU squad.” Belmont’s had a couple head scratchers, or they would be in the same category.

The problem isn’t taking a lot of 3s. The best shots in basketball are layups/close and 3s. The worst shot you can take is midrange or long 2s. The problem is the lack of creating good looks through the offense or turning it over before you get a chance.

The worst shot in basketball, near or far, is usually the one taken by ISU.

Really?

Doubt players would stay and I would bet outside of maybe Horne and Reeves new coach would be fine letting everyone else go.

The positive: We played a style of defense where first place Loyola had 17 turnovers. That was one of our best defensive games of the year.

The negative: We had a season high 22 turnovers.

My analysis of this game: I said before if we are going to make any improvement this year, it is going to start with defense. We did that. Guys worked hard . If we keep playing that way and find a way to cut down on the turnovers. this team will cause opponents some problems before the year is done. If we keep changing our style from game to game, we may never have an identity of being really good at anything.

I think most players would be happy to have a new coach. Guys like Boyd, Fisher, Chastain have already transferred once, so unless they’ll be grad transfers I doubt they’d want to sit out another year.

Horne and Reeves are probably gone if Dan stays in my opinion. Heard from a players parent that Dans crazy amount of practices has led a lot of the players to either break down due to injury or quit on him.

Yes forced many turnovers, but in the second half how many times did we allow a wide open three especially once we scored and cut into the lead a bit?

We gave up a lot of open 3's second half and had plenty of defensive break-downs. All that being said, we have players that caused 17 turnovers against a first place team. It is still ok to point out something good, isn't it?
