Why not? Pretty sure cpacmel won’t mind.He should get his own thread like all other new players. I don't think I am the one to do it.
Ben Humrichous did average like 12.8ppg at a D2/NAIA school go to Evansville and put up 14.7ppg so maybe it could happenI love your optimism, I do. You can hope for a nice jump between a player's Frosh and Soph year. But can you expect a 5th-year senior to make any significant jump? I can't.
I also don't think you can expect a d2 player to give you the same numbers when he jumps up a level. Make that a level and a half. (shitty D2 to the middle of the road D1).
You know the old saying about chicken salad? Players win games.
Well, I wonder if it ISN'T best to build as best as you can around HS guys, at least you can get a couple-three years out of them before they go? Then use the 1-2 year portals to fill in the blanks. You know what I'm saying? Johnny and Chase give us a couple good years, move on, and then Caden and Jack are featured. The problem is its extremely difficult, and even less realistic anymore, to build around incoming freshmen/underclassmen because you can't expect them (or anyone) to stay. One more strong year from Johnny and he'll be gone. A decent year from Chase and he'll be gone. If Ty figures it out, he'll be gone too. Building isn't an option anymore. It's buy-a-season. And if we want to buy .500, we're right there.
No kidding!!Jesus, come back to read this thread on Monday morning. Guess I'll go jump off a building.
While the portal closes May 1 for players entering the portal, grad transfers can still transfer at any time (Announce they are leaving and commit)
Looks like grad transfers only have one additional day
That would be my sentiment. ISUr needs to see massive improvement this year, or it is time to reload and rebuild in regards to management. ISUr needs to find that men’s basketball coach that can navigate these new waters we find ourselves in. Hopefully current management is up to the task. This day and age three years is a long time when you can reload and rebuild every year. If not ISUr will start resembling a low level place to play versus others in the valley.I read all of this and I don't like the NIL one bit or what has happened to college sports. I am not going to change that.
Even with the change in the landscape of college sports, why can't ISU RED be the flagship institution of the MVC? (And not just for the All Sports Trophy). IMO, there is no reason with our resources and facilities we cannot compete with everyone in the Valley and win. I am extremely disappointed with our inability to be competitive in Men's basketball. This needs to change in Pedon Year 3.
