As a Redbird alum and Wisconsin fan, Jordan is a very nice addition. He is a streaky shooter. He either makes his 3s or hits the side of the backboard. He has good vision and is a good passer. He is also a solid defender. I am curious to see what he can do at this level. I think he was over his head at the Big Ten level and probably got offered so his brother Johnny would commit to UW. Jordan is a great locker room guy who worked his butt off. Work ethic won’t be an issue with Jordan. He left UW on good terms and they would have been glad to keep him for another year. Long story short- a solid pick up for the Redbirds.

Wow! Looks like another great signing. Well done Coach Pedon! My sense Jordan Davis is another example of a player who will thrive in the Valley. Very excited about this coming season 👍

Are we better today than 1 year ago?

So far, yes.

3 freshmen + 3 portals are significant upgrades from those who left.

On paper.
Welcome, Mr. Davis.👊

Yes, on paper. But here's the deal. We lost twice as many games as we won. Our returning letterman HAVE to get better and play better...together. Our game coaching HAS to get better because it looked awfully green at times last season. Shall I remind you of possessions immediately following any and all timeouts? We were, at best, bad. I'm actually thinking horrible. Assists? Amongst the lowest in all of Division 1 basketball. Turnovers?? Take a looksie.

Will we be up to the challenge?? If everyone improves, I believe a reachable goal is 20 wins by Arch Madness. If our returnees don't improve, well...

I am hoping less turnovers and a better defense points the arrow in the up direction for once

Welcome Mr. Davis to ISU, love this addition and the depth it brings to the roster. I am sure practice and competition for playing will be fun too watch this fall. Jordan's defense and only 8 turnovers all season is a major plus to his game and will help the team out. Its also great to see the State Farm College Of Business coming through as Jordan is a Personal Finance Major and mentioned that, that was a good fit for him. Every little bit helps.

Overall, a good addition in my opinion. The strength of the roster is trending up. This only makes everyone better.

Pedon seems to be building largely according to his plan. Probably at least one or two more seasons away from being a contender to finish at the top of the MVC, but Rome wasn't built in one day.

I hopeful that having a full staff will help Pedon focus on in-game coaching. The new assistant will take some workload off of everyone which should allow for some additional mentorship with Judson and Pedon.

On paper, I like what he's brought in. I will stress, I'm really hoping he doesn't pocket the final scholarship. Of course, don't fill it just to fill it but they need another body for true post depth. Right now, it's Lieb, Walker and Schmitt. I feel like foul trouble will plague the bigs, especially early on in the season. We know Schmitt is a step slow, though plays the position fundamentally well, Walker is going to take time to catch up to speed of the college game and I'd imagine Lieb will too having been mostly a practice player at his previous stop. As of now, if those three get into foul trouble, you're looking to Sissoko and Lewis at the 5 spot. We know Sissoko is foul prone as well. After those five total players who could be considered "posts" who else could drop down if needed? Luke? Pence? Davis?

Anyway, I'm hoping for one more big to round out what seems to be a solid class of '23.
