I am very pleased with this recruit. And, this is an example of a ball player that our former staff would Not have signed. As you
watch his video - he's got a nice all round game. Not full of sweeping jams and countless 3's - guessing the young man is a basketball
player.

His height - he may inch up and he'll fill out. It's been said countless times that Dan didn't bring in kids like himself.........welcome
JK and thanks for being a Redbird.

Well said Baltimore - Jake loves kids like John.
It may be an adjustment period for some of the fan base to have an appreciation
for what type of player Pedon brings on board. I'm anxious to see his offensive schemes.

I really like his motiviation. He wanted to get his recruitment out of the way to focus on his current team. There is something to be said about bringing in guys who are winners in high school. I believe Porter built his Final 4 team on the backs of a bunch of guys who all won high school championships. Bring in guys who not only want to win, but expect to win.

I totally agree on the background of a winning program. Goes a long way towards collective culture. The real question in our success lies in this: Can we keep an impact player for more than 2 years? Gosh, even one year?

Humdinger - I'm guessing Pedon and staff have a philosophy to address the turnover and sell the atmosphere. Grass ain't always
greener but ........
I'd guess if a kid explodes like Reeves, he logically could/should look to improve his value in the eyes of NBA selectors. Otherwise, The Birds nest should be a fine place to totally enjoy their 4 year experience on the court and campus.

If you listen to Pedon, this guy could go from D1 Coach to a consultant selling current staffs on How to Market Your Program. He's textbook
with his values. Part of his package or philosophy must have a chapter or 2 on how to respond to the constant input these kids get from their
handlers and friends who insist on putting the transfer notion in their heads.

Getting back to winning will cure a large portion of this outside influence of course but the kids need to be readily equipped with the How's on handling
this outside advice.

Maybe Pedon is doing some extra vetting during recruiting and avoiding players who have "handlers"? Those type of kids can frequently be me over we guys. Doesn't sound like Pedon wants to bring in that type of player.

Seems like a good kid and not overly talented but very consistent. Just want a nice needs 9 or 10 guards on the team and one Center and a couple forwards

Not overly talented? Assume you’ve seen him play. Glad we have your breakdown. I was holding my breath.

DePere lost 3 games this year. They lost to Menomonee Falls, Seth Trimble and Steven Clay by 4 in the sectional finals. Trimble is headed to North Carolina Chapel Hill. Clay is going to Illinois Chicago Circle Campus. My gut tells me we got a good one.
