Gruden on Thursday praised Robinson's ability as a receiver and in blitz pickup – two elements key for a running back transitioning from college to the NFL. "We'll see how he does, but we have every indication that we've seen in training camp that he can handle it," Gruden said. "He can handle the workload. He's tough. He's strong. He's got great vision. He can explode through holes. We've been impressed with him."
I lost interest in the NFL a few years back. Go to a game in person and you really get a feel of how commercialized the game has become. I froze my butt off at a Bear's game. Seems like half the time you're just watching players stand around waiting for the TV timeout to end. Then you go, geez, I spent 100+ bucks, spent hours driving, paid out my ass for parking when I could've just stayed at home and flipped channels. I'd rather just walk over to Hancock and see my football there.
A friend just picked up JR for his fantasy team. A great sleeper pick. Let's see if he can shine. That should help ISU recruiting efforts. Get guys those guys that could go to a bigger school. They can play earlier and maybe make the pros. Anybody think JR would be playing in the NFL if he went to Iowa instead? Something to think about. But if you shine at ISU that means something.
Always enjoy following "our guys" in pro sports, will especially enjoy if JR comes through decently. And I include all MVFC guys too, think over the years about some of the guys we've seen at Hancock.
Other than following Bears, White Sox and Bulls, I have lost interest in all pro sports (not a hockey fan, so never really "lost" interest, never really had it). I have a huge problem with paying people millions and millions and millions of dollars to play sports, have a huge problem "investing" in that sort of thing with buying tickets, beverages, parking (as JHBird points out) and all of it. Take the NBA especially as the worst example, who the eff are these guys? Bunch of 20 year olds, never learned the game, guys you never heard of, etc. etc. (get off my lawn). Feel the same about NASCAR - bunch of 20 year olds crashing out while they learn to race.
Agree Jags must be tanking. They stock piled picks for this year, and dumped Fournette for nothing. So theyre playing for high picks next year too. Then try to build on 2020 and 2021 drafts for 2022.Some say Jags are tanking this year. Regardless, good for James. Hope they don't run him in the ground. No Central Arkansas in NFL.
