I can't believe this but Milik has been hustling the last 5 min. Maybe he saw how Chastain got a standing o for his hustler and wants in on it.

Our guys are worthy of getting to play with Fayne, even if for just a day. Bravo on the hustle. Let’s make it a habit.

I've been critical of this team and coach DM, but today was a defensive clinic and if they continue to play D like today then they will be in a good position in the conference. Way to go Birds!

Great effort this game... be it fighting for lose balls, denying the basketball, etc. The effort (and basketball IQ) were top notch today. Shooting is still a little shaky, but we out hustled them. Big win.

i can think of maybe 2 or 3 players but 9?

A few guesses:
- Larry Bird
- Oscar Robertson
- Doug McDermott
- Doug Collins
- Walt Frazier
- Hersey Hawkins

Chastain leads another defensive effort and the team wins double digits. We turn this thing around today.

Birds were not in the valley when Collins played.

They use to give out an AP, Naismith, and Rupp award each year. Bird won all three, Hawkins won 2, and McDermott won all 3. That gets it to 8.

Put Taylor in and let's see if he can make a shot to open the floor.

He barely participated in the shoot around. Spent most of the time on the sideline chatting with an assistant. He's likely not playing too soon.

Agree on Evans. Doesn’t have it this year.

It's been 14 games. How can DM not see what we're all seeing?

Coach sang his praises in the post game for his effort. He's not letting his shot dictated the rest of his game now.

Congrats to Phil on the 1K club entry! Solid game today by him and Milik who dabbled with a triple double.

Great non stat stuffing games by Chastain and Hein. Hein wore the #33 uniform well for Evansville. Chastain with the charges, boards and fighting for loose balls, and his D. Both big contributions today.

Agree on Chastain. Bringing the intangibles that we were hoping Tinsley would bring his senior year. Need those types of guys in the lineup.

Agree! Some of those dimes were solid!!
Plus at the 7 minute mark, he had a big steal which he took down and scored. The next possession on the defensive end, Milik dove on the floor to get a loose ball. The next possession on the defensive end, Chastain chased down a 50-50 ball.

I loved the fact that that we put the ball in Copeland's hands for most of offensive possessions down the stretch, but more importantly there was plenty of movement by the players. We didn't see too much dribbling in the same spot. Yes 4 good passes. When we play this way offensively, it usually carries over to our defensive.

We didn't look complacent at all. Good job by Dan.

Just got home after post game dinner in B/N. I will be able to sleep good for the first night since the Valpo debacle. Wife & I noticed a whole different type of cohesion & team togetherness immediately after the intros? Great to see that we came out and actually played DEFENSE!! Big contributions by Chastain as others have said & several spectacular assists by Milik late in the game. Missed a lot of easier (but good) shots & kudos to Phil for joining the grand point club! Hopefully we can build on this effort & string together some W's now!!

A much needed win today. As heartbreaking as the Valpo game was, our defense was really good in that game too so that's 2 games in a row with very good defense. That's encouraging. I loved watching Chastain today. His hustle and defense were huge. Honestly, he's quickly becoming my favorite player to watch.

Congrats to Phil on entering the 1000 point club.

MY was under control and didn't try to do too much.

Yes the offense was ugly, but shots sometimes fall and sometimes they don't. Hard nosed defense is what this teams needs to turn this season around. I'm encouraged to see if they can keep building on this one.
