I looked on the MVFC website and that only leaves four games left on the spring schedule. Two this Saturday and two the following Saturday. I don't really understand why YSU is still playing at 1-5 but they have their reasons I guess. I can understand the teams that are still in the running for some type of hardware to be continuing on but if you are sitting on a bad record with nothing to play for then why take a chance on getting a player hurt for this farce of a season? I think Coach Spack made a sound decision here. The Redbird's depth is becoming a question mark with departures so why take a chance on losing someone else to a serious injury. Getting some playing experience was maybe beneficial and I wish the Birds had given a few backup QBs some field time but they played enough to see what they have. What they have needs work...a lot of work...back to work and preparation for the fall...when it will mean something.

Another one bites the dust:

New Hampshire (FCS): New Hampshire has opted out of the remainder of its season with two games remaining. The Wildcats end their season having played one game, a 24-20 loss to Albany on March 5.

Interesting scenario in the NAIA playoffs. Morningside College of Iowa is ranked #1, and hosts a playoff game Saturday. They sport an 8-0 record - all games played last fall!! They have not played a game since Nov. 21, 2020. Kind of a long layoff!!
