Wisconsin season ticket prices are also $378. So not only 8-10x the attendance, but 2-3x the revenue. Then you add in higher donation levels. Being brutally honest: they are making a profit each game; we’re just trying to lose less money.

Raise your hand if you thought the FB team would have to use the Dome during weather in August vs. cold in Dec/Jan! :)

Nice to see it up and hopefully all done.
ok, so .. while it's never good to lose some funding for a big important project. But did we just get this bubble done much faster because we lost funding to do it better ?

Nice is nice ... but so long as we have an nice indoor turf option, that is the MAIN objective. Have an inclement weather option AND be able to recruit better knowing we have an indoor option. Spack's recruits won't care as much about "how nice" it is. They will largely only care that tey have something "good enough".

That said, I'm fine with this ... we have an indoor option, not the nicest indoor option. But it is still an indoor option and it will help a lot.

Redbird Admin .... well "enough" done !!!!

Maybe not the nicest indoor option but miles better than what they had before! I am a glass-half-full type of guy ... most of the time anyway.

I am anxiously waiting to see the new Redbird O-line this year. I think we have some good skill players and a good O-Coordinator but they will all go how the O-line goes. Defense, as I have said before, I expect to be fine after maybe a slow start to get things adjusted. I have total faith in Coach Spack on that side of the ball. Maybe this is the year both sides come together. It is that time of year when everyone is 0-0 and everyone has a shot at the Conference and National title! Hope springs eternal!

Then again, there are the Bears where hope is a wasted thing. I expect them to be improved but they were the worst team in the NFL last season so how could they not improve? Aron Rogers is gone so maybe a chance to beat the hated Cheese Eaters. The Vikings are an unknown I think and amazingly, I am thinking the Lions may win the Division. I lived in the Detroit area from 1989 - 1997 and the Lions were not so good back then and since then they have been not so good either. I was pretty impressed with the new coach and the job he did last year. Yep, it is that time of year when all the NFL teams are 0-0 as well but I have no aspirations for the Bears to win the Division let alone a Super Bowl appearance. Maybe they prove me wrong...nah!:LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL:

Not only is the glass half full, it's splashing over the rim!! ;)

I'm also looking for a "move" from the ISU offense. Year 2 of a very experienced OC, second year with a very experienced capable QB, seemingly solid RB group with returning starters. Some returnees and fresh blood at WR. And experienced returnees on the OL, along with some experienced newcomers. TE's capable. Here we go.

If I had a dime for every season we were really worried about the offense being way ahead of the defense during the Spack era ... well, I would finally have a dime.

Our best hope this fall is we have 4 easy games to start the season: Dayton, WIU (road), EIU (road), and Lindenwood. Then a bye, and then a hard cold slap/snap back to reality with SDSU at home followed by rest of MVFC gauntlet, though no NDSU this fall.

This may give our defense and offense 4 great tuneups to get ready for week 6 afainst SDSU. The downside is .. we won't be tested by anyone good. So who knows if it will turn out to be a good or bad thing.

The first 4 games will be interesting for sure, but I'd hesitate at the "easy" aspect, despite what it looks like on paper. WIU & EIU will be up for us and it's early in the season when energy is still high. Plus road games are not a cakewalk, especially as we'll still be figuring out rotations & packages and keeping guys healthy. All that is to say while we don't have any juggernauts in the first 4, we might be better tested than we think by the time SDSU comes to town. At the very least, we'll have 4 games of shaking the rust off and hopefully in a good rhythm by then. The bad new is, so will they

Both WIU and EIU hit the portal pretty heavy too, so some unknowns there (like us, potentially). And I wouldn't sell Lindenwood short either, they see themselves as "up and comers", 7-3 last year with 3 road wins at Houston Baptist, Central Arkansas, and EIU, and win at home vs. Murray St.

Valid points on not taking anyone lightly, especially on the road and with our defense still in question early.

As for Lindenwood, their offense looked ok. But for whatever Massey is worth, they went 7-3 against the 100th ranked SOS. But just 4-3 agianst D-I. Their do-everything QB graduated and their defense ranked 108 of 130 FCS teams per Massey. Their run defense was horrible giving up 6.1 ypc against a largely weak schedule. My guess is their QB carried them, and now he's gone.

Well, sure, we should beat Lindenwood, picked for 7th in the OVC. But . . . . .

Plus which, Denver Johnson returns!

I'm retired, I have earned that nap Timmy.
Yes, Timmy's daughter was a real athlete. Out there gettin the work done running many miles rain, sleet, snow all kinds of weather. Not in some plush glorified tent like Timmy's football players!!
