If the roster is set, Can we count on improved coaching, game planning, and such?

This team will be better than last year. The new assistant has done more in a couple months than the guy he replaced ever did. The problem is with the MVC so strong a much improved Redbird team probably still is a lock for Thursday. So, I see improvements across the board, but not enough to save Dan’s job. I think he needs 5th or better to stay another year.

NCAAs or bust for Dan.

Though I do agree with this I don't think it will be the case. I think if the team shows improvement and finishes top 6 then he will get another year. The top 4 of the valley is stacked this year. If Dan can work his way into the 5/6 spot that would show some pretty big improvement and Kyle may want to give him one more year because the top 4 will lose a lot after this year.

Of course another Thursday finish and Kyle won't have a choice.

Like you imply, it must be marked improvement, not just incremental.

Isu will have about 1,000,000 reasons to convince themselves yes for at least another year. 18-12 is for some reason acceptable around here normally even though that can't even get you in the NIT. 14 wins gives him another year under current circumstances.

Again, you mistake the lack of beating heads against the wall in every post and every thread for approval. I do not think there is one person here who would say, based only on results, that Dan has done a good job and should be coach for ever. Most of us just don't have such depressing lives that we have to be reminded about it in every post ever. We can talk Redbird basketball and sports without mentioning it every where.

Someone asked a question about Dan being fired after next season and I answered. 14 wins and he's got another season due to his contract and covid. Novel idea to answer a question lol. You nailed it 🤣

Lol, one out of 4 posts, all were garbage, but looking at your profile pic, why should I expect anything else.

I’m not saying you’re wrong on the new assistant, but what has he done so far? He got a transfer to enroll who we have no clue if he will be good or not, he’s been featured in a couple social media posts. I’d say let’s just wait before we anoint this guy the savior. I remember belcher we deemed to be the savior upon arrival and the team has been horrible even since he showed up.

Nobody is anointing anyone. I’m solely comparing the new guy to who he replaced.

I ask this seriously, but what did Reese do or not do that you found to hurt the program? Do you have specifics? Or is it just an opinion that he was not working hard and exerting much effort?

So, in your opinion, it's better to be pessimistic and predict our new assistant and our new video guy will bring nothing to the table. Got it.

Oh . . . btw . . . Belcher has been here two years and was brought in to recruit. So maybe let some of his recruits (Fleming, Washington, Andrews) start playing bigger roles before saying he's that big of a bust.

The players all leave in 2 years or less in this program. It’s hard to find many guys who stay longer than that, so if they’re not contributing at this point, history tells us they probably won’t.

im not advocating for anyone to be anything other than realistic here. I have seen some saying Rob Johnson is so great because he’s offered 4 star and 5 star players. When they commit then we can talk. I could made scholarship offers to the best players in America, doesn’t make me a good coach. Belcher also coached at Indy state many years of which they were never very good. I believe they improved once he bailed.

Who said that?
The poster mentioned the new assistant had done more in 2 months than Reese did in his entire tenure. Those squiggly things with a dot underneath them are question marks. Please google what questions are. I simply asked follow up questions to his statement.
