Group tickets vs. NIU - $15 istead of $35

Looks like at a minimum we had 35 tickets spoken for here. So, I guess we're going to get a message placed on the big board thanking NIU for their hospitality??? LoL. Seriously though, this is awesome.

That's fair. We've already seen the results first hand - and we know, it didn't end that well.

The first batch of tickets were ordered (I started out with 15). I'll get more later today or tomorrow (but would like to not start out by putting 40-50 tickets before getting some $. I don't want to get stuck with a bunch of extras. Thus, PM me your info and I'll send you paypal link and once received, I'll be able to transfer tickets.

There's a chance I might be able to transfer the tickets via the NIU system (you'd need an account but then could manage the tix yourself). That said, I was told that the way to send them to people is via a screen shot and text (not as ideal).

OK - I've purchased 40+tickets and all have been offered for transfer through the NIU / Ticketmaster system. Most on here have accepted them and the tickets are sitting in their account.

A couple people weren't able to connect today before I ordered the second wave, but they still want tickets. Thus, I will call NIU one more time on Thursday around noon to add to the order. I think we can get to 50. We need 4 more people.

Therefore if anyone else wants in on this, pm me and be prepared to send $ by Thursday am and I'll add to the order and send tickets out Thursday.

Also, it occurs to me - would it really have been so hard for our athletic department to organize something more official that alumni / current students could have taken advantage of in the same manner? Instead they simply attempted to sell their allotment at the higher price.

I suppose it could possibly be some type of contractual requirement to attempt to sell those tickets at full value, but if not, then what stopped them from just taking full advantage of this deal and getting as many Bird fans as possible in the stands?

Depends on the contract but the visiting team normally keeps a % of what they take in from their allotment.

OK - so we ended up eclipsing the 50 ticket mark. Great work, all.

Groups of 50 or more are technically allowed on the field and in the "high 5 tunnel". Oh, the wheels are spinning. ha ha ha

As far as group name on the scoreboard, I'll check with Quinn to see if he thinks a mention would be appropriate or not.
