Great contribution!
Thank you! I know right? About as worthwhile as the rest of this thread.

Timmy you look like a real troll in this thread adding non sense like that. If you have opinions, maybe share them rather then wasting our time with a Rollie massimino post
Trolling? This might be a worthwhile topic in 2024. OK, maybe 2023. Rollie has just as good a chance as anyone else mentioned because DM's got a contract until then. He's not going anywhere and you know it.

Why are u posting this? This team just had a big win. Bigger than you would think. They found out a way to win and that is a great sign early in the season. They are battle tested and faced a quality team tonight who has a decent resume this year with wins over robert morris, canisius and fort wayne. All these teams are very well coached with veterans and a rich history in their respective conferences.

Huge win tonight for the birds!

I hope this is a sarcastic post...…. :eusa-think:

As long as he gets us a few victories in the NCAA and consistent domination in the Valley, at this point, I could care less what he does. That's how desperate I am for success and that's officially what it's come to for me...sacrificing doing things the right way for a chance to be relevant again.
God, I'm going to a dark place....

I think we can all agree Dan has taking to program to depths we haven't seen since Moser walked the sidelines (although Porter had a much tougher conference to compete against). Would like to start thinking of who may be the next head coach at ISU. Perhaps we can share this with the Larrys.

For reference here is a good starting point (notice Dan not on the list).

Personally here's a few guys I would consider - However, I do not know if ISU is a step up on any of these programs.

Chris Jans - NMSU
Travis DeCuire -Montana
Earl Grant - College of Charleston
Matt McMahon - Murray St

Looking forward to seeing who else you guys think could be the guy.

the only name i recognize is D&B Jans. But IMO there is no way and no reason anyone would want to take this job aside from money.

If a change is made, however, I want John Chaney. He'd be perfect. He's 87 and possibly senile and incontinent but he's a huge upgrade over who currently patrols the sidelines.

Did we give up on trying to lure Yaklich back bc he’s gonna be a dude someday and ISU would be a decent first step for him as a head coach I would think.

If we pay him what we're paying Muller, that's a lot more than what he's making ow. Make me an argument against going after him....

Yak with Rob Judson as his AHC/Sp. Assistant...

Muller can slide into a 3-man booth with Pegler and Morris on the TV side. He'd be perfect in that role.

Unless Yak's reputation takes a quick nosedive, and I mean fast...he's in line for a much bigger job than Illinois State. That's not a knock on ISU. He's got the reputation for a top20 job, peeps.

We've got to at least take a run at him.

Based on his "reputation " you actually think he has a chance of being a top 20 program head coach when he has never coached at a D1 level as HC? LOL explain that to me..... sure he can recruit but let's try to be realistic here

Orchestrator of one of the elite (major college basketball) defensive teams in the country last 2 years...3 if you include ISU's 16-'17 team.
National title appearance in '18 with Beilein loudly singing his praises while giving Yaklich COMPLETE authority on defense over his two yrs with the Wolverines. He received alot of press while at Michigan, which has a residual effect.
The Michigan job came down to Juwan Howard...and Yaklich. Those were the final 2.

Yes. Top 20 program. He interviews extremely well. And he's not a re-tread. I will note that it does require the right dominos to fall when the yearly coaching changes begin.

I would have to become an Illini fan, if Yak landed there . . . but you said top 20 program, so I'm safe.
