If he keeps current pace, he will be First Kentucky player ever over 50% FG, 40% 3’s and 90% FT in a season
I saw that, amazing! First player in Kentucky history to do this and the 4th most PPG in the last 25 seasons. That's an amazing accomplishment. I know many thought he would ride the bench and make no meaningful contribution. I'm very happy to him.

The 2019-20 team was one of the worst teams in school history but a lot of those players are experiencing success right now (largely thanks to the COVID year). With this being the last year of eligibility for most of them, it is an interesting time to take a look.

Starters
PG - DJ Horne (NC State) - 16.8 PPG, 3.4 RPG, 2.5 APG, 1.0 TPG, 1.4 SPG
SG - Josiah Strong (Colorado State) - 8.4 PPG, 2.7 RPG, 2.1 APG, 0.6 TPG, 0.5 SPG
SF - Antonio Reeves (Kentucky) - 19.4 PPG, 4.3 RPG, 1.6 APG, 1.3 TPG, 0.6 SPG
PF - Sy Chatman (Buffalo) - 18.0 PPG, 6.3 RPG, 1.3 APG, 2.8 TPG, 1.4 BPG, 0.9 SPG
C - Dusan Mahorcic (Duquesne) - 4.8 PPG, 1.8 RPG

Bench
Howard Fleming Jr. (UTRGV) - Redshirt
Alston Andrews (Delaware State) - 4.6 PPG, 4.8 RPG, 1.1 APG, 1.5 TPG, 0.5 BPG, 0.6 SPG
Alex Kotov (Campbell) - 4.0 PPG, 3.2 RPG, 1.3 APG, 1.5 TPG, 0.6 BPG
Harouna Sissoko - 1.0 PPG, 1.0 RPG
Jayden Johnson (UIS) - 8.1 PPG, 1.4 RPG, 0.3 APG
Nik Stadelman - 0.8 PPG, 0.3 RPG

Other
Dedric Boyd - graduated
Abdou Ndiaye - no longer playing
Emon Washington - no longer playing
Malcolm Miller - no longer playing

Keith Fisher opted out and Chatman joined him after 5 games. That left a lot of freshman, sophmores, and JUCO transfers with virtually no division 1 experience. This team was brutal on defense especially the interior. One of my least favorite teams to ever watch. Horne looked checked out about 1/2 through the season and Mahorcic would put up stats but his defense made me insane.

That's the year we scored over 177 points against Greenville celebrated all the offensive records that were set that night. Unfortunately we played defense the same way for the remainder of the season.

Antonio Reaves and Kentucky are on ESPN right now.

Here are a few highlights:
He already has 23 points (8-12 FG, 3-3 from 3) with 15 minutes left in the 2nd half.
Jay Williams has been giving him praise and said he's primed for the next level. He compared his game to Rip Hamilton.
This is his 14th, 20 point game.
He's (currently as I type this) just 3 points away from 1,000 at Kentucky
He's only the 6th player in Calipari's coaching history at Kentucky to score 1,000 points.

All time top PPG at Kentucky under Calipari:
1. Jamal Murray 20.0
2. Malik Monk 19.8
3. Antonio Reaves 19.5

I'm very happy for him. I know a lot of people thought he'd sit the bench and not contribute. I absolutely believe he can be on a roster and contribute in the NBA and as mentioned, Jay Williams (and others) are saying the same thing.

Hit a tough fall away 2-pt shot to put UK ahead with seconds left, but LSU gets a tip in at the buzzer to pull the upset.

it was dillingham who hit the tough fade away to put them ahead. But the point remains, reeves has definitely surprised at Kentucky and been all they wanted and more. Him being able to play with a team of stars without as much defensive attention (at least not as much as when he was ISUs only scorer) is even better for his game which includes shot making from every level.

I'm watching NC State vs Duke in the ACC tournament and totally forgot about DJ Horne. He's playing right now in crunch time, NC State is up by 6 with 4 minutes left. DJ has 14 points.

DJ just hit 2 free throws with 15 seconds left to put NC State up 73-69. He's NC State's leading scorer and has been playing clutch minutes. Happy for him!

Big win, NC State beat Duke 74-69! DJ Horne finished with 18 points.

NC State is up 65 - 58 with 7:04 left in the game. DJ has 23 points and is about to go to the free throw line for an and one.

I've enjoyed watching Reeves all year but must say, the last few games I've seen of DJ, I've been more impressed with him. North Carolina may be #1 overall seed and DJ is taking it to them.

Fantastic game by DJ! NC State just won the ACC tournament championship and DJ led the team with 29 points. He was the best player on the court tonight and I wouldn't be surprised if he was MVP of the tournament. He also led the team in scoring the other night with 18 points when they beat Duke.

Has anyone compiled a list of former Redbirds who have danced after leaving us? Pretty incredible how many have while we’ve continued to flounder.
