Like him or not you’ve got to respect the hard work Tone has put in to his game. Kid has a dream and he’s trying his damnedest to make it happen. Two spring/summers working out with NBA trainers and players has got to help. I think he could—could—be a solid journeyman player putting 6-8 years in The League, or a guy who is a key player on a top team in a Euro league . . . or he could fizzle out. I’m hoping he makes it.Justin Edwards, Antonio Reeves Named Preseason All-SEC
Freshman Justin Edwards and senior Antonio Reeves were named to the Southeastern Conference men’s basketball preseason teams the league announced on Tuesday. Edwards was a first-team pick, while Reeves was a second-team choice.ukathletics.com
The biggest thing working against him right now is his age. NBA teams have been shying away from taking "older" rookies. He's going to be 23 come next summer's NBA draft. I wish him luck.Like him or not you’ve got to respect the hard work Tone has put in to his game. Kid has a dream and he’s trying his damnedest to make it happen. I agree. But there are other paths to the NBA. How many of us expected Fred van Vleet to become a critical player on an NBA championship team? He wasn’t drafted, when he was 22. NBA teams aren’t stupid. They may draft younger players, but they’ll play guys who‘ll help them win.The biggest thing working against him right now is his age. Some of you will enjoy this little walk down memory lane with Rick Lamb. This is from a facebook group on the "good ole' days" of HS basketball in Illinois (Illinois High School Glory Days website). I think you should be able to access it.
By a nose . That team was so great. He was my favorite on that teamMy all time favorite Redbird.

Unfortunately, most teams will view him as too old. Hes the same age as Ayo Dosunmu who is in his 3rd year in the NBA. He will make a living playing ball with ease though. So happy for him! He's proven a lot of people wrong so far. Of course I would l have loved for him to stay at ISU but if I'm a kid with an opportunity to play for a hall of fame coach at one of the true blue blood programs, I wouldn't hesitate. He's always seemed like a humble kid, without any drama.
44% from 3 is awesome! He could be a solid role player in the NBA with the right team. I think of a guard like Austin Reaves (former Wichita State guard that transferred to Oklahoma) who is only 6'5" and plays a great role for the Lakers.
reeves is an excellent college player but he is a grown man among mostly physically developing (esp strength) younger men. never say never but if his game was nba material he would likely be there nowSo happy for him! Definitely understand these perspectives and I'm certainly not predicting that he will, but I do believe he could play in the NBA.reeves is an excellent college player but he is a grown man among mostly physically developing (esp strength) younger men. never say never but if his game was nba material he would likely be there now
