We had a 3 minute brain fart that lost us the lead. Then . . . WIU executed and we didn't. The double dribble call on Lewis was not a good call . . . but then Lewis tried to do too much and turned it over again.

Well...let's see. Not athletic. Not skilled. Can't shoot. No size. Lewis will get shut down in the Valley. Those teams will put pressure on him and actually force a double dribble and a travel. Sandage can't even be competitive against his old team??

Mechesney a no show. Zero inside game except for Lewis. Other than last few minutes of first half shot it horrible. Really disappointed

We can't even use the excuse that we're a new group . . . WIU also had a lot of turnover on their roster.

McChesney was a no-show on offense
Sandage was outmatched on both ends in both halves
Petrakis didn't show up for the 2nd half
We shot 30.8% in the 2nd half - WIU shot 53,6%

Frankly, we played like we didn't expect any competition. WIU was quicker to the ball and tougher on D of both halves. Our late 1st half run was the only reason we were even close in the end.

I'm not saying anything about any of that. Just saying that was clearly a travel when he caught the ball. That being said, they were much more physical defensively, getting into lanes aggressively and going for the ball than we were. I would expect more free throws based on that.

FWIW, Reeves led Ky in scoring tonite with 22 points on 6-12 3-point shooting. DJ Horne had 8 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists. That should be ISU’s starting backcourt.
