Several of us are rightfully confused about the way eligibility works with COVID years and whatnot. Hopefully, this thread can be your one-stop-shop for any info needed. Any player who played (or opted out) during the COVID season of '20-'21 is granted an extra year of eligibility (5 total years of playing). Good news is, COVID eligibility will be no more after the '24-'25 season.

Scholarship players only. Pence, Walker, and Kinziger would be eligible for an additional season should they receive a RS year or medical waiver but do not qualify for a COVID year.

Weird to see that Sissoko is the only one with experience who didn’t transfer in to ISU. Portal churn.

You have to assume we'll have 5 or 6 portal guys, and probably pick up some two year guys in the process to replace them next year. It feels like the worst-case is that everybody stays, we pick up 2 HS guys for 24, and then trying to fill 10 spots in 25?

Man if all the eligible guys stay with the newbies it could get pretty special honestly.

A lot happened coming out of Covid: K-State dropped its hyphen and Elon gained a G - probably so as to differentiate itself from the electric-car rocketeer…

Really hoping that due to Mal’s minutes being down that he doesn’t decide to transfer (although would understand if he chose to move closer to home).

Look. COVID had an impact on everything.

Plot twist no one could see coming...Mal plays his final year at.....Norfolk State. 8 min away from his hometown.

First time looking at this; made me wonder: who has complaints when Sissoko sees the floor? I'm trying to figure out how you give a specimen like that so few minutes. I realize there are so few total minutes, but I never feel like it's huge drop off when he comes in.

I think offensively he has some abilities but I have always felt that he can get lost on defensive assignments. There is not doubt about his athletism. He also appears to have great attitude and disposition

I've always taken up for him, I don't see him playing 25 or 30 minutes, but his energy and physicality for 8-10-15 minutes a game, depending on matchups and how many fouls he commits -- I always thought he could contribute. And Pedon has always seemed to speak of him highly. He's not getting something somehow, or he'd have earned more time.

That has to be it. Something important just isn’t clicking. If he was contributing, I’d want to keep him around . . . but I can’t see wasting the schollie anymore. Not when we need contributors. We need a quick replacement for KLew, maybe even an upgrade. I think Daugherty has potential, but I’d rather not count on him having to contribute from day one.

IMO, Banks, Burford, Poindexter,, Kasubke, Lieb, Davis and Sissoko are ALL potentially expendable. In the post game interview Tucker De Vries said that Drake brought in 10 new players. Clearly they all meshed with each other. And had a great year.

We all understand that Pedon had to scramble to put together a roster when he was first hired. But the pieces don’t fit. But after two years, focus on real needs rather than merely filling a roster.

Seriously look at D2 players, proven JUCO players, and even international players that are fundamentally sound. Time is running out with fans patience and yet we have so many needs to crack top four in the conference.

We are currently full for 2024.
Correct. As of right now, Schmitt and Lewis' scholarships are going to Daugherty and Norris. I'll update the tracker as folks go out and come in.
