Brady is a junior.... host calls him a senior multiple times and asks Brady about his senior year. Brady never corrects him....Brady must be taking this as his last year.

Love his discussion of "knowledge of the game" when the team is on offense vs defense. Hopefully Redbird Athletics puts a video together to show before games for basketball and football. Football is better but a lot of basketball fans get loud when the team is offense and quiet as a mouse on d.

He confirms it at the end. He hopes to, "Go out with a bang." Bryce Jefferson 2020.

is there a link of article or video ?

that would be very surprising ... not buying it yet. Maybe he just wasn't comfortable correcting the guy on film .. though agree it is odd he didn't correct him, since he went to all the trouble to petition NCAA for 6th year .. would have been easy to say, "no, I got medical redshirt approved for another year".

We'll see .. after last season fizzled the 2nd half offensively because of pass game, I just doubt it. He has so much to prove .. hard to do in just 1 season. I still believe there will be some ups and down this season, but am optimistic it will be notable improvement over last season for Davis. Just hard to believe he is on anyone's radar as grad transfer ... market is usually limited for QBs with 1 year eligibility.

It was on page 1 but here it is again. https://m.soundcloud.com/user-744211984/illinois-st-qb-brady-davis-on-the-brakedown-july-24th

He’s sounds very confident that it’s his last year here.

thanks for link .. was odd how the senior year thing was talked about so much and it never got corrected. Nice interview .. Davis seems very comfortable and is talking like a leader ... handled couple tough questions very well. I can see why coaches were optimistic a year ago .. even if premature. Looking forward to seeing his development this year.

I think he'll use both years here but that's just my gut talkin. Speaking of talkin it seems like he and Spack are pretty close. I guess we'll see when we see.

So here is top 40 CFPA top performer watch list candidates. Noting 10 RBs, 2 WRs, and the rest are QBs .. presumably 28 QBs. MVFC graduated a lot of stud SR QBs. Interesting thatof the 12 non-QBs, SDSU who lost their stud QB to graduation, still has a RB and WR on this exclusive list.

http://ovcsports.com/documents/2019/8/13//CFPA_Announces_2019_FCS_National_POY_Watch_List.pdf?id=9877

And here is Goredbirds article:

https://goredbirds.com/index.aspx?path=football

Interesting that Davis is getting this attention as one of the top 40 candidates for CFPA Top Performer list along with Robinson. His numbers last year trailed off in 2nd half of season, but he still managed to finish with 19 TDs and just 5 picks .. very impressive ratio combined with his strong pocket sense avoiding trouble. My guess is he was so focused on not turning it over, and so unfamilar as a summer transfer who further had to split reps with Kolbe in August, his accuracy suffered a lot at times. I'm sure the thinking was, we can win with Robinson, so just don't turn it over. Excited to see Davis after fill offseasonl.

So the rest of his numbers last year were pretty ordinary and that is where he needs to prove himself this season. Love the talk from new WR Coleman about Davis's leadership with OTAs for skill guys. This leadership aspect is huge.. especially with unproven WR group. Don't know how good OTA attendance was but it sounds like it was at least pretty good ... many of the player inetrviews talked about players holding each accountable during OTAs. This is crucial to the whole familiarity gap for any summer QB transfer, especially with a WR group with questionable depth.

As for Robinson, if things go well this fall, he will never get Coprich level touches and has little chance to win this award even if he is the best RB in FCS and so far the top NFL prospect. As NDSU has proven, it is easier to win games and make playoff runs with 2 RBS splitting reps .. fresh legs and healthy bodies will carry us thru 12 regular season + 4 possible playoff games. And with a guy like Proctor being different running style (even faster/quicker than Robinson, plus tough for his size), it will eventually force opposing defenses to have to game plan for both Robinson and Proctor.

Then throw more consistent QB Davis into mix if he is able to establish short pass game along with his abilities for deep ball and pocket sense, and our offense will be able to improve greatly on our last place 3rd conversion rate and the horrendus field position disadvantages we had in our 4 late season losses.

So Davis has a chance to surprise the FCS this year since many of last years top QBs were SRs and are gone, especiall in MVFC. Highly touted guys returning from UCD, JSU, Delaware (Flacco) and NAU will be the favorites, but it thins out after that nationally .. Davis could easily emerge as top 10 ... not so sure about top 5, but he seems to have this kind of potential.

Having watched about 10 of Spack's Redbird teams, I'm confident that we're going to have an offense balanced between running and throwing.
