Congrats to Tone. He deserved 1st team. We've seen this in the past that voters take into account team success. In recent memory, Evansville and Indiana State have has some really solid players that couldn't crack the 1st team due to their team's performance. I think this should set up Tone to be named Most Improved. It'll likely be between he and Mast from Bradley. I gotta think it's Tone thought since he received zero preseason accolades and ended up on the second team and the conference's top scorer.

Carter? Outside of a modest increase in scoring average, he's basically the same player he was last year across the board, with the exception of averaging two less rebounds per game. I'd be floored if he won the award.

Thinking more about it, these awards are set up to award the players, right? Despite the Birds struggles, him not being on the first-team suggests he isn't a top 5 player in the conference....He's the leading scorer. He got hosed and I hope he drops 60 against Indy State and 100 vs UNI.

I remember 1997 when Eldon Miller (Coach of the Year) and Jason Daisy (Player of the Year) were wrongly awarded over Kevin Stallings & Rico Hill.

As far as I know, Freemon-Liberty is the only player to make 1st team from a Thursday night team. It wasn't going to happen.

Yes, this list should be player oriented. POY would be my only exception where how you led your team matters, but thats not awarded yet. There have been several first teamers in play in games in the past, no POYs
