In an era where as many P5s make (34) as don't make (34) the Big Dance, just going above .500 at ASU would almost guarantee an invitation.

Arizona & Stanford were left out this year with winning records. 19-13 Oregon St only made it because they won the conference tournament. Final Four team UCLA was a play-in team. Big 10 and Big 12 are over-represented.

On the plus side, he's at Stripper U.

As is probably going to win 18 games. I don't see the birds going 10-20 each of the next seasons

Hurley v muller. Seriously?!? No contest.
Not that I want to defend HC Dan M. but it's not really that clear cut. Hurley career winning % = .592. Muller = .536. If Muller won at that %, he'd have 172 career wins instead of 156. Over 9 years, that's 1+ more wins per year - not much to write home about. Would I rather have Hurley? Yes. But he's not that great.

Agree. Hurley is far from great but it’s sort of hard to compare the two coaches when you factor in the schedules both have coached. A fair assumption could be made that a PAC 12 schedule is more difficult than the valley.

I have no idea what ASU is looking at next year but they just landed our best player and we are staring down the barrel of our 4th straight Thursday night in the Lou.

Well, apples to apples - PAC 12 team vs. PAC 12 conference, MVC team vs. MVC conference. Hurley's got/should have a relatively better roster to face a better conference and even non-con schedule. But we are in a world of hurt, no doubt about that.

I would also say that a P5 school generally gets to load up on home games and wins in the nonconference schedule.

Plus he's playing in the PAC. Can't see how he isn't happier there unless some hotshot freshman beats him out for a starting role.
He’ll be competing against the MAC POY Toledo transfer. Can DJ even beat him out?
