I think Drake will be back in the cellar next year as they lose five seniors: Timmer, Woodward, Rivers, McMurray, and Arogundade. It will be interesting to see how they replace all of those guys. That was 69/81 points for them tonight for those wondering.

We lost MM, DH, TW and PLEE and we didn’t end up in the cellar. I know nothing about Medveds recruiting ability but just because they’re losing players doesn’t mean they’re cellar dwellers next year.

Another hard fought win!

Agree on Timmer's acting ability as he overreacts every time he gets hit. That first half foul where Tinsley knocked him over was not a shooting foul. He was knocked into and then acted like he was in shooting motion -- replay clearly shows he was not going for a shot. He must have watched Duke videos on how to be a professional flop artist.

Tinsley was everywhere -- nice game on the boards. Hit a couple of 3s and had 4 blocks. He is gaining confidence at the right time.

The big three strike again -- great game from each of them. No one can stop MY except MY.

4 of Drakes starters are seniors -- they will be in trouble next year unless they have some surprise players coming in.

If you watch that first foul WT when Timmer got fouled on the 3, Timmer clearly travels on the play. Timmer shuffles his feet to move in to WT and then shoots the ball at the hoop.

Wooooooopoo.....

Let’s not compare our 17-1 team to this years Drake. They will be in the bottom four next year.

I suppose we can thank Red Alert for Reed Timmer's free throw misses. Poor Chloe. [emoji23]

Unless Drake gets an impact grad transfer, JUCO, or a freshman to step in, it will be a bit different because we had MY waiting in the wings, a known D1 talent, to help offset losing MM/DH. He was already here for a year having learned our system. We also had Fayne (9.1 ppg, 6.3 rpg) returning, although he and Key are showing things much greater than last year.

Add in PG help, scoring, and post depth to next year’s team...could be a special year if our guys come back and keep improving.

I liked that one too. These guys all seem to genuinely like one another. Chemistry is so important.

Timmer was asking the refs for goal-tending on the last shot of the game. What a joke.
He also flops on every close call. The flagrant foul he was called for, after he slaps Fayne, he jerks his head back and starts falling backwards acting like he got hit.

This is absolutely hilarious. I heard them chanting it all night long and I could not figure out why. Kudos to the student section, as there is nothing I don't like about this.

Copeland looks like a player! we'll see next year. Hopefully we take care of business
in STL and that should open up better recruiting for DM.

Their screeners also pushed our guys into Timmer on the two four point plays. Once with a moving screen the other with a hip check. The hip check, was probably the most infuriating because it was the most obvious. Drake also used a lot of pushing our own guys into us for screens. On multiple occasions I watched one of their guys start moving when say Timmer was coming around and then they start pushing our guy like they are trying to get away, and we ran into each other. They were pulling out all the tricks they could, and the refs were eating it up like candy.

Yea, what he said.^^^^^^

This is what a student section should do. Great job, Redbird students and Red Alert.

Real tired of the acting and dirty tricks. Wish the refs would catch on with some consistency.

Good W

That was a very hard fought game. Both teams played hard. Medved is a good coach I think.

Great to see Phil out there. Key and MY were really good.

Hopefully the flu bug doesn't bite anyone else.

Really solid job protecting home court and Drake did a lot to spoil it. Darn entertaining game.

From what I heard Medved is in his first year. I'd say he's done a great job considering his team was picked to be last in the valley. Definitely a coach to watch out for. His team plays pretty smart, of course that might be because of all the seniors he has playing..that always helps....
