jamminjamarsmiley: Who do you think you are? What have you accomp;ished? Do you donate to the program? Are you a season ticket holder? Have you played or volunteered for ISU Athletics. You and CaliBird are just trolls unless you can provide otherwise proof.

Actually, you might be the troll. There are about 700 fewer donors these days. You should want them back.

And yet you did not answer his questions....
His questions don’t deserve a response however i have donated to ISU, I have had season tickets previously and I have worked and volunteered for the university at times.

Not that any of that matters, but I can tell you I have not had season tickets for many years and have not donated for many years. I am not alone. I have communicated with Kyle that I look forward to his new head coach hire and that may change.

Regarding Reeves, it is unfair to ask him about his status for next year at this point. I believe JJS said it but he didn't have any other option other than his response. It was a student reporter that asked it. The same one who got shut down by Muller during the MVC call on Monday. If Reeves says "no comment" or "I haven't given that thought" then it would be assumed that he's gone. I was a no-win situation for Tone and its unfortunate he had to answer the question.

Same thing back when McIntosh was asked following an extremely emotional loss to UCF. He was asked something to the effect of has he given any thought about leaving next season and responded, "No I haven't given that any thought." Many took that as he is returning, when the fact was he probably hadn't thought about it cuz his season ended 10 minutes ago.

Neither question was asked at the appropriate time. We have to always consider what question was asked and when it was asked to really have an understanding of how to interpret an answer.

I did really enjoy Abdou and Tone's comments about playing for the name on the front of the jersey. It seems Jones really instilled that in them. I think its easy for the players to forget how they perform impacts so many more people than just themselves and when things are done correctly, it not just the players that feel anguish, its the fans.

I believe his comments are sincere with regards to his relationship with Muller, he didn't have to make it a point to say they had a strong relationship. As far as him staying, I agree, he can only answer that question one way at this point. It's going to depend on who we hire as a coach and if he wants to try going pro.

Just when I thought you were an individual who might have a leg to stand on. You have no real investment in the program. You do not have season tickets, if you live out of town, I can understand. However, you do not donate, that is where you lose me. (not that you give a rats rump on what I think, and you shouldn't). Peoples situations are different in how they can support something they claim they are passionate about. Using the line, if you get a new coach, I may change my mind and give the university money. I have a hard time supporting that thought process. Either in or out. Real question, why do you support ISU? Me, I support ISU because it has been my life, my passion, my church. Wonderful memories as far back as I can remember, even before I was born(60+ years ago).

I don’t know, but I can assure you players and coaches get trained on how to speak to the media. If you think comments made in a press conference are 100% genuine and always the truth, that is quite naive.
I'd like to add, a lot of what is said is to position themselves. For example, if Reeves was to coach-bash, that would 100% affect the number of opportunities for him should he consider the portal.
We all hope he stays as he has a chance to be one of the all-time greats. I think what Jammin is saying is, let's not go all-in on what is said at a presser.

If you could just make the type a little larger and a little bolder, it would help.

Yeah, so anyone who is currently is not paying isu their hard earned money for an underachieving product should not be considered a real fan? I am willing to bet a large % of this fan forum doesn’t donate to the university, so you didn’t just insult me, but many orhers here. I believe in giving my hard earned cash where it’s earned and deserved. Unfortunately isu basketball has not met that standard for me, therefore I chose to pull my money. I don’t know how else to voice my displeasure.

And I support ISU because since I can remember, I attended Redbird basketball games with family and friends. It is in my blood. Sorry if I disappoint you

That's exactly why we should be glad you aren't the AD. You will never get donors back with that thought process. Don't blame the poster for the lack of donors. Blame Lyons and your buddy. But, keep on, keeping on.

Not a real fan, that is exactly what I said. How does your current support help ISU? I understand you may like ISU a little bit, when they are winning, when they are not. Well, look at our chat right now. You have your opinion. I respect it is your hard earned money and I appreciate your financial choices. Just bugs the crap out of me all the pissing and moaning all the time.

I seldom comment on here, but ,I had a stupid moment where I had decided I had enough of the questioning of other peoples loyalty choices, example: "I will bow down to the almighty Birgs, the only person on the board to go ALL the way down on the sinking ship with muller. Impressive accomplishment. Most had jumped off during the season, but not you!"

I'm not real sorry I insulted you, I'm pretty sure you like to point out problems, usually not part of the solution. Just a guess. Try to have a good day. If my comments are the worst thing that happens to you today, that's not so bad, things could be worse

You should actually call Kyle up and ask him for a list of donors that have left ISU BASKETBALL over the last 4-5 years. I had that discussion with him a week ago- it's a lot. You can feel smarter than the many that left- but I know he wants them back.

That is great that Kyle took time out of his busy schedule to share that information with you. Did he share that list of individuals with you or just say, "it's a lot"?. I'm feeling way dumb the more I carry on with this discussion. I know we all can't agree on everything, I'm tired of all the negativity. What sucks, I'm not usually a negative individual, but look at me now. I disappoint myself.

I'm just saying 2000 donors is better than 500. Those numbers are hypothetical too.

I’ve pointed out solutions for isu basketball for the last couple years. Kyle has finally acted. I am thankful for that, thus why im considering donating.

And trust me I do not feel bad by your insults, just simply stating you seem to equate isu loyalty with donations … that’s not something I agree with but maybe that’s just me.

I am one of those that for the last 3 seasons pulled my donations and last 2 seasons ticket purchases. I now will be back. I decided several years ago situation looked like it was not going to get any better. I will now come back. My dollars have lots of competition for them and I try and spend them for a quality product. This will probably not make the diehards happy, but why spend the time and money on a product that is not competitive most nights? My travel time is 2 hours per game plus then the game expense. It is unfortunate previous management’s experience did not work out but on to the new chapter of redbird basketball.
