No matter how this game finishes I am encouraged by what I am seeing. Davis looks great tonight. I am liking the rotations as well. Pence giving some good minutes as well.

We did some fine things. Slowed down a good offensive team. Played hard. 17 turnovers and 22% from 3. We continue to have the worst guard play in the MVC and it’s going to tank us. I’m fine with Kinziger 30+ minutes and no more Dalton Banks so at least we are building for the future.

Good ball movement in the second half but the shots didn’t fall. It wasn’t just Banks dribbling in circles and guys standing around.

Start the 3 Fresh. Move on!
The thing that gets me are the turnovers by our older players, often at inopportune times in the game. Glad that we weren’t embarrassed by Belmont but we do have glaring weaknesses. We have guys that should not come back despite having Covid year eligibility.

We took 54 shots. 23 were 3s and many if not most were wide open. Pedon has said those are good shots BUT if you can’t make em they aren’t good shots. 5/23 ain’t gonna beat anyone. Kasubke isn’t giving us anything. His strength is supposed to be outside shooting but hell his shots aren’t even on line and have no chance to go in. Davis has to start the next game. He can make a few and isn’t a liability on defense. On the positive side Walker is a mountain of a man. Get him game experience and I think he’s really gonna help down the line. Our front line isn’t the problem as many have pointed out. Since we can’t shoot go big and hammer people. Note also Belmont took 51 shots but only 15 threes. Way better offensive scheme.
