Valpo is such a difficult place to recruit to. I give Roger credit for coaching his kids up in the games against us. I know he really wanted the Illinois State job and my sense is that he's more hyper focused coaching against us because of that.

Another contributing factor to this loss could very well be a mental break our kids took. Having won 4 out of 5 and then going to play the worst team in the Valley, they may not have had the focus as other previous games. Not a great way to end the season but hopefully we can bounce back to the form we were in prior to this game. If we're going to have a bad game toward the end of the season, as many teams do, I'm glad it happened now.

Pedon mentioned on the postgame on WJBC that the effort in the 1st half wasn't there and they didn't have the attention to detail that is required to compete. That tells me a few things. 1. We don't handle success well. 2. Need leadership to pick up and set guys straight. That should come as guys stay in the program especially the freshman as they are here longer.

Coach wasn't happy post game and didn't sound much different in his weekly teleconference with the MVC beat reporters. Side note- he was only asked questions from Harry Schroeder and a media member I wasn't familiar with. No local media from what I could tell was on the call.
