There is a part of me that feels like we have a better shot to win the Valley Tournament if we play on Thursday.

We haven’t played on Thursday basically ever since I can remember. This year has been so messed up that it wouldn’t surprise me if we:

Beat Evansville
Beat Mo St
Beat Drake
Beat Loyola or SIU

None of those teams are good.

And we only play well when our backs are against the wall.

Then again we could lose to Evansville.....

We played on Thursday in 2011 and lost. I would love to see us avoid Thursday because we would probably underestimate Evansville and exhaust a lot of energy if we got through them. We haven’t played with a sense of urgency all year so I don’t know if it would start in the tourney.

ISU has competed very well in 5 of 8 MVC road games thus far, obviously losing 2 on buzzer beater 1/2 court shots. The other 3 were horrendous performances. If we compete, it’ll come down to the last few possessions. If we are horrendous, that usually shows up really early, and it’ll be time to get ready for Thursday..
