I know I am old school, but when NO ONE screens away from the ball or back cuts it just drives me crazy. I am sure analytics say to take more 3 pointers but man this is ugly offensive basketball for about the 10th straight year

I just mention that. We pass- stand around- pass and stand around.

We have to work so hard to score, then give up an easy bucket because we can’t stop a guard driving, or cover the middle in the zone.

This Murray state crowd is acting like they’re at a library. Complete silence on the broadcast at times. Great opportunity to make them pay tonight.

We have given up FAR to many buckets, and we are not hitting enough shots, especially 3s.

Could very easily be down 20. The team rebounded very well to start and seemed to fatigue a bit down the stretch there allowing 3 or 4 offensive rebounds on one possession.

Shout out to Coach P though for that great inbound play to get Liam a wide open dunk.

If Murray would miss their wide open layups, the Birds would be up 6.

It does surprise me that this offense is reminiscent of Mullers. Not much happening off the ball. Though, there are screens set for the “post guy” to get him open but the issue is we don’t have a true five to work through. Giving Liam or Kendall the ball on the block when they give up (anecdotally) 15lbs to their defender doesn’t do much. When it goes in to post, the other four just watch. Gotta work on off ball movement.

Good call by the staff to go zone as the guys were getting SMOKED off the dribble. That really stopped the bleeding.

Murray State is good every year even with coaching change and player turnover. Clearly the more years of mediocrity that we have, the longer the mediocrity status quo will be because we won’t be able to attract either quality recruits or transfers. I think that we may be in for several years of sub .500 records.

The turnovers need to STOP. We’d be doing just fine if it weren’t for the constant turnovers when we desperately need a hoop.
