Well, a stretch 4 who is not the greatest athlete, or best post player...but who can be a trailer in transition and spot up from behind the arc and shoot over guys when necessary is not a bad thing.

We can hope he becomes Levi Dyer-esque

Since Adams runs the offense now, maybe he sees Kotov as someone who fits our scheme? Maybe we need a more position-less big to fit the offense. Bruninga not being able to score points in the paint is a big problem. Teams are able to emphasize guarding our perimeter because we hardly have any driving threats or anyone who can regularly score in the point. Fisher’s scoring in the second half of the season is encouraging but he is not a 5 whatsoever. He can get singled in the paint easily by some of the 5’s in our league.

Heck as long as he has long arms maybe he can guard Liam Robbins.

He’s got to be very lengthy based on the tape. He’s not explosive whatsoever yet was dunking very easily and catching alleys. It’s not like we see Bruninga able to do these things, so I’m thinking Kotov has quite the wingspan/length.

Great another tall, thin player. A work in progress, for joy but welcome to ISU. Looks like a redshirt , maybe another tall thin guy and or other players are leaving...

When did anybody see a back cut by anybody on the team this past season? The problem wasn’t that the team didn’t have players like Fisher, Chastain/Bruninga(when healthy) that can catch a pass and dunk it, the problem was that the offense wasn’t designed for Those types of players on the block or running the baseline getting the ball. It solely centered on standing 4 guys around the 3 point line and then using the one forward setting a high screen to generate either a drive to the basket, pass to rolling “big” or rotate for 3 point shot.

High # turnovers, lack of offensive rebounds all are attributable to an offense that didn’t work - don’t get me wrong, ISU offensive design has been a struggle for several years, but this year was simply terrible.

EXACTLY!! This is why I'm so nervous about leaving the offense in Jones hands.

This is a good signing depending on what we get with him in this class. We need 4's and 5's. If this is the only 4 we get between now and next year, it is just an ok signing. A legit stretch 4 would be nice. If we clean out 3-4 guys off the current roster and get 2 more physical inside players it is fine.

There need to be serious discussion about the future of Taylor and Matt. Good kids, but with their health this isn't working out for anyone. Also, is everyone counting Donnelly into our scholarship mix? I assume that could easily be removed if we have other recruits coming in.

Donnelly got one second semester because we didn't add a transfer. That scholarship is already spoken for from one of the four fall signers.

I feel bad for Matt and Taylor. Their injury problems have really limited their bright careers.

Copeland against Central Florida ... pass from Chastain. Perfect play to put us ahead for potential game winning basket instead he slipped. There went the undefeated season and all down hill from there!!

At what point did Dan make the announcement? Oh gee that's right. He didn't.

If it's accurate and he is not a preferred walk-on somebody's gone. I would really like to see Taylor with a full healthy year. Def think he would average double figures.
