I was there too. I was surprised at his appearance - there was no internet or espn then, so we didn't know.

I attended the UNLV games and 2 homes games against Larry. The Redbirds won them all.
I also went to Indiana State where we lost a very close one in the NIT.
BIRD was amazing. When you are 6'9" and can shoot like he did, that skill will always translate.
