TIMMY said:He's either eligible right now or he's not. And yes it takes a long time for the clearinghouse IF there's a question as to the validity of any of his 16 core courses. This is a complicated process and high schools have a complicated task in getting their core courses approved. To illustrate this check out the NCAA portal for high schools. As a retired AD this was a part of my responsibility. Some of you may find it interesting.

This is where a new or shady school can get hung up.

Yeah I wonder if DM will say when he's eligible or not or if will just find out closer to the season. None the less great to see he's on the roster and here.Adunk33 said:DaveBird10 said:On the roster online #4, same number as kind David

This is good news. We're not I'm the clear yet regarding his eligibility but this is a step in the right direction.

I agree. We need him THIS YEAR. Just like we needed Copeland last year. We always fall just short of the prize, and have a would be contributor watching from the bench. Plus, don’t want AN sitting out to set up a 5th year grad transfer. 2018-19 is a definite go for it year, and need all hands on deck.JHBird said:BirdGrad2011 said:I’m just counting on him not qualifying like McIntosh. Won’t sting when and if that news comes. Pleasant surprise if he’s cleared.
I kinda feel we need him this year. If he sits then we'll have 4 scholarship players riding the pine this year (Boyd, Fisher, Hillsman + Abdou). That's a good chunk of our roster. Kinda hurts the depth. I just don't want to go thru what we went through last year, and all it would take is a few injuries and there we go again. The key guy I hope stays healthy is Phil. Our guards should be super strong this year with decent depth, assuming Elijah takes a step up. But with Evan, Copeland and Jefferson we should be good, and of course Hein will play some too.

I’m sure Dan wants this too, but it’s probably why we got him.
