It's just my opinion here, but I find the proposition absolutely embarrassing given Chicago State's track record and current trending 'dynamics.' If I were anywhere in CSU athletic admin, I'd have a hard time looking anybody in the eye and with a straight face.On paper you'd say absolutely no way a school that is in such financial hurt as CSU could undertake, in this uncertain NCAA era, to start up a football team. Totally crazy idea. But then, things are crazy out there. Still, I see no way CSU gets into football.
If "somebody" is trying to stir up a football program in Chicago, wouldn't UIC be a much better target? Bigger student body, more money, more alums with more income from their majors, etc. etc. And I see no way they'd be interested in getting into it.
