Everyone said all along that hopefully all the injuries and missing players early in the season would benefit us in the long run. Well, here we are. Depth certainly came to our aid tonight with Hein contributing, Gassman hitting a big 3, David altering shots on the defensive end, and even Taylor and Elijah coming in with a few minutes each to spell the other guys. All our guys have been able to get some rest over the two games because of our depth, which was the difference in OT.

See why I wanted this in overtime? HUGE MISMATCH inside

I understand, but we're going to be dead tomorrow. We needed to win by 20 so our guys could get some rest. Tomorrow is going to be rough... i wouldn't be surprised if we see another 20 point below out or something like last year.

Loyola isn’t last years wichita State team. And if we lose by 20, it won’t be because we are gassed.

Our guys are a lot closer to dancing than MM or Hawkins.

Not that I’m bitter or anything.

Every time I see a 'new' poster with an obvious screen name...I think it's you, ISUFan1...just creating a pseudo argument between your alter egos.

Kind of like the LardAss scene from Stand By Me.

Just watched game.

Gotta give props to Hein. Hit some big shots. Still made a bunch of terrible plays, but those 11 pts were massive.

Tinsley was huge too.

Fayne took over. He’s back.

We scored 76 pts and only 21 came from Yarb and Key. Not bad.

:text-+1: on Hein.

Really a great day for Hein considering even a couple of his blunders were horrendous airballs/banks that fell into Phil’s hands for easy deuces under the bucket.

Anyone feel pretty comfortable even while down with a couple left in regulation? I just knew we were good, SIU felt beatable. It wasn’t like when we were playing UCF, it was a close game, but i just felt beaten w/ 5 min left. This team is 5-1 in OT, “winning begets winning”

Last year we coasted on Saturday and had Nothing on Sunday. I like the fact that we had to play hard both games. I also Like that we lost both games to lose guys. We have lots and lots of incentive to play well Go redbirds

ESPN matchup predictor gives us a 19.1% chance of winning. Who do they think were playing Duke? We had our chance at Loyola and the team should be confident from that. I like our chances given Phil appears to be recovered from flu and ankle.

Ever since Boogie broke out of his slump and we started playing much better man to man defense we have become a dangerous team. It was just a matter of getting all the pieces on the floor.

Bradley is a physical team and gave Loyola everything it could handle. Second half legs could be a factor for both teams.

I like our chances if

1. Get off to a solid start ... Don't have to lead by 20 but can't be down by double digits and chase
2. KE needs to let the game flow to him. Seems like he is trying to prove something
3. As V boy said ... must attack the rim especially in the second half. Don't settle when your legs are heavy
4. Don't let Loyola live at the foul line.

Birds win 69 to 68. Phil gets fouled at the end. Misses the first and makes the second.

Let's Dance!!

This is the post game interview where coach, Phil and Boogie were at the podium. It was nice to see the respect and admiration that Phil showed for the coach. At one point he briefly laid his head on DMs shoulder as he was about to leave the podium. Loved it. You can tell this team enjoys one another.

The very first question to DM was about MH. There were actually 2 questions that were both along the lines of how impressed has DM been with MHs turnaround from last year's SIU game debacle. DM said that MH has been good for them all year and has come a long way in development.

Oh, and Boogie admits that the T that was called on him was legit and was on him. He didn't say what was said but owned up to it.

WJBC pointed out that the scores of both games where ISU won with SIU have been the same score, 76-68 in OT. And both losses to Loyolla have been the same score 68-61. Hopefully, we can hang a W on today's game.

This is anyone's game today. I hope the ISU crowd packs it in close to the court and is loud/raucous as every little bit is going to help and could be the difference. Our bigs need to keep Krutwig away from the basket and contain the other Ramblers as Loyola will get their points but we just need to prevent them from scoring more than 33 in a half.
