Against Wichita at home in the 17-1 season. Hell of a game for a Foster, and even better for Johnny

I thought it was the year prior to the 17-1 season when we beat the van fleet/baker Wichita state team at home. I didn’t think they were ranked when we beat them the following year.

Either way, it’s been awhile and this was a true road win against a ranked team.

I told a friend before the game that this was probably gonna be like Custer At Little big horn It was gonna be a massacre. Boy am I glad to be wrong. As for JK playing big minutes he’s a freshman. Had to learn the college game…speed and physicality. You could sense against SIU he was figuring it out and looking for his shot especially in second half. Even after tonight he will likely still be in that fresh learning curve. There will be ups and downs. But the long term view is exciting. I also believe he’s not a kid looking to go elsewhere.

Wow! I’m still in shock I think. So many years of going to Terre Haute and losing to bad Indiana State teams in front of a half empty stadium and we go into a sold out stadium against a really good Indiana State team on a losing streak with injuries….and the Birds get the W. Makes sense to me! I’m sure the players and coaches really needed this one. Congratulations to them! Go Birds!!!

Reeves has a P5 body. This level suits JK so well with his body. If he was 4 inches taller he wouldn't be here.

They didn't crack top25 until Feb 20, 2017. Ended up 19th, though, in final poll...so we can say we beat a top 20 team that year.

Wichita ranked #8 in 2015 when we beat them in Arch Madness semifinal.

You’re right. For some reason I read initial post as “when was the last time we won at Hulman?”, which remarkably had happened less in the past decade-plus than beating ranked teams.
