UNC Wilmington just took down #12 Kentucky. Reeves fouled out with 3 minutes left. UNCW is good this season. Murray State lost to them by 2. Lots of upsets this weekend in college basketball.

Norfolk State took down VCU as 12.5 point underdogs. They are off until the Horton game and will come into the game at 6-3 (2 of those wins are non-D1). Currently are ranked #242 by Kenpom but I think they are definitely top 200.

Indiana State up big over NIU
Evansville getting pounded by BYU
Mo State lost in OT to Middle TN. Middle TN beat No. KY by 18.
SIU tied with OK State at 32 late in the 1st half

Not a very good night for the MVC.

Watched the last few minutes, quite a game, hard fought. A couple really poor calls/non-calls down the stretch. Geez, with Lance Jones and Domask and Banks SIU would be really solid, not just very solid. :D
Were those the refs that were used in the USA/Russia Gold Medal game?

More of a question for future 2024-2025 non-con thread, but after NSU game does ISU try to bring back the Horton game again next year? If so, how many teams will be willing to play in this intense environment? I’m curious to see how sticky any stigma on our program and fan base will be in the coming months.

Given how difficult it already is to book a solid non-con at our level, it’s likely to be even more so finding someone willing to play us at CEFCU/RA next year.

We might have to take more buy games than usual. If we play at NSU, you’d have to believe their crowd will have this game circled on their calendars.

I think the Horton game should be once every 4 years (try and let a player experience at least once). Let's hope we start winning, attendance rises, and its a deterent to play at Horton due to the capacity.

Given how few players stay four years, maybe do it every other year. We have some work to do on capacity being a constraint, since we didn’t quite sell out Horton this year.
