I don't know why any of their commits would stay. Summer workouts start in 3 weeks, whatever coach they bring in is going to have to build a completely new roster. Yes, Pedon had to do the same thing...but Pedon will have had 2.5 months and the entire spring signing period.

I've got UE going 0-20 in the league next year.
Nah . . . Somebody will go into Evansville and completely overlook them, then get a thoroughly scathing fan board riled up. Hopefully it’s not the Birds.

Really depends on signings. There are still hundreds of players in the portal. If they get somebody in next 2 weeks I still think my Aces are better off than keeping Todd around another year.

Crean gives me very Ggregg vibes. Not as far as potential success, but his slimey-ness. Nonetheless, it'd be interesting to have a "high profile" name in the MVC.

Oh I agree. He was one of the names brought up for our job that I was always weary of. But, E-Ville probably needs his type of "clout" to try to recover from where they are now.

I never thought of gregg as slimy. I thought of him as an ahole - the full epitome of being a prick. Then again maybe he is a slimy ahole.

Slimey? Wow. I disagree. Sore loser? Maybe.

When McCollum gets up he's gonna be good. I wonder why people keep skipping over him. I choose him over Ragland anyway.

Better question is why would anyone choose Evansville? That might be one of the bottom 10 jobs in all of D1.

Well, this isn't my opinion, but my guess, my "expert" guess - - on why so many DI schools don't go with DII head coaches. And for the most part we're talking "lower level" DI schools. They wanna be like "the big boys". They want guys who've run with the big boys. You come from a school that doesn't have the "big" fund raising, the "big" donors, the "big" recruiting, etc etc. you might get a look, but you're behind the other guys from the start. McCollum can coach, he gets results, it sort of looks like he can recruit if you're talking DII type guys. But hey, we've got a guy here who assisted in the Big East. At Utah State, blah blah blah. And in this specific case, has lots of history in Indiana.

Reminds me of how Bo Ryan finally got the HC job at Wisconsin. He was an assistant at UW "back in the day", then went to DIII UW-Platteville and won like crazy including national championships. UW job opened up, and instead of hiring Ryan, UW hired Dick Bennett - also with a DIII long and successful history, but then he had gone to UW-Green Bay and had some success in DI. "They" told Ryan, you should get some DI HC experience. He went to UW-Milwaukee for a couple mediocre years, but when UW opened again, Ryan was hired. McCollum might very well get a job quick if he moved to a DI as an assistant - Missouri, Iowa, Iowa State, whatever - and then came back in a couple years as a successful DI assistant.

Crazy world.

By your progression, Dana should get the Mizzou job, McCollom slides in to Mo St. Rob Jeter goes to DePaul. Muller reinvigorates Western. ISU has several NIT appearances and Pedon takes a $ Head-Coach-in-waiting job at a BiG10.

Yack comes back as the head and has Wills, Jud stays, bring back Paris.

I wouldn't go anywhere near that far. Given what Eville had to offer I'm good with the selection. Good town, good arena, good school. Needed somebody more energetic to lead program who will stay away from the frat parties.
