This is just more of the same old excuse making from Dan. So we lost Brunniga, Chastain and Fisher. None of those players were top tier power forwards at their best. The team he has now can’t compete against Loyola, Drake or any other quality teams regardless of age; we don’t have the size. ISU Mens Basketball is now a bottom feeder team in a bottom feeder conference. Dan’s not going to fix it. He has to go. But I don’t get the feeling the new AD packs the stones to do what’s required to bring ISU back to credibility; let alone getting to the NCAA. It’s just a pathetic state of affairs.

What defines "top tier power forward"? If you consider Keith a power forward it would be ignorant to pretend he was not top tier in our conference. Was selected preseason 3rd team All-MVC and was one of the leaders of our team. Bottom feeder conference? The MVC tied for 7th with the AAC, A-10, MWC, and WCC in number of bids this year. The league is home to the 17th ranked team in the country. Since 2009, the MVC has the highest first round winning percentage in the Round of 64 with a record of 11-3. For reference, there are 32 conferences in the NCAA. We are lucky to be a member of one of the most historic conferences in the NCAA. Wichita St. and Creighton both left so they could find more tournament success (which they have not found) while Creighton's replacement made a Final Four run. It's okay to be upset about the current state of the program, but you could at least be accurate.

They became top tier players (in memory only) once they left...

You’re bragging about “preseason 3rd team all conference”? That one step above a Gatorade cooler.
