I was seated right in that corner when that call was made ... Horrendous call and the ref was looking right at it. Not even close and , man, did he disappear from the court quickly.
Just an outstanding interview .... I was stunned to hear 71 and a cane ... It has been a while. Doug was just an amazingly exciting and skilled player to watch at ISU (the Oral Roberts game with he and Richie Fuqua lighting things up) and in the Olympics and just as skilled in his other...
What a wonderful interview. It was such a joy to watch him playat ISU and follow the rest of his career. I can't make the Horton game, but wishI could be there to say thanks again for all of the joy and pride he brought.
Interview with Doug Collins is a must listen.
Thanks for posting this ... nice article ... I got to be at Doug's college HOF banquet, but I am in FLA now ... Doug has always been such a class act .... he has done so much for ISU by just being who he is.
Jared .... but would pick Ricky Johnson with Collins ... instead of Hawkins .... both would be better playing together .... Hawkins was talented, but more about himself imo. Tough not to take Carmichael earlier, too.
Totally agree ... college basketball in general looks to maybe be becoming a whole lot less interesting in the times ahead .... a real loss in my opinion.
If I could read it once, fine ... but when some choose to dominate most threads with the same rants, I find it a waste of time. Frequency does not make it more significant to me. To each his or her own choices.
Thanks for posting this.
I was supportive of Dan, appreciated his values and effort, and wish him well ... and don't pretend to know what he should do next, other than what he chooses.
This conference suggests we have another good person. I am very hopeful re the next chapter of redbird...
Thanks for posting that. Truly a class guy and we will be quite fortunate to find another coach who can demonstrate those qualities ... and he was right about those calls. :-)
I strongly recommend the ignore button. It took me a while to figure it out ... just me ... but it does cut out some of the droning on and allow more focus on talk about the games, the kids, etc .... I may miss a few pertinent comments, but it is definitely worth the tradeoff.
Just terrible news for him ... such major improvement in so many areas it seems. I wish him well in a full recovery and a return to continued growth. He will be missed the rest of the year.
