There isn't any spinning. It's simple- keep him on payroll and demote him. If you think he deserves a promotion that's fine. I am not going to use the word promotion for a guy that deserves to be terminated. Believe it or not many believe he is paid to win basketball games. They also believe he has failed at that. The poll says 50-27 that he should be winning.

What extra money? An assistant is promoted to Dan spot- and Dan is reassigned. It's no different than a VP'S job is being done away with...and you reassign that person to an underwriting position.
How about reassign

It will be cheaper in the long run, unless after 5 pm you plan to rent it out to every travel baseball team/travel softball team/pee wee football team, and make money off of it. You know it will stay more up to date if private industry runs it, because they are out to make money. The university will do minimum necessary to keep it useable.
That is exactly what they plan on doing. The upkeep is planned on being paid by renting it out.

Not that it’s gonna happen but let’s play along. Who do you promote?

I’ll answer first. Rob Johnson. Why? First, he’s probably the cheapest. So a financial incentive. Second, he has five years head coaching at the post-high school level. Granted it’s prep school, but has experience recruiting high school kids every year. Jones may have HC experience, but not with a ton of success.Third, I’m going to guess he has a huge number of connections across the high school and prep school landscapes for recruiting. Fourth, he has huge connections and respect in one of our nation’s basketball hotspots, Atlanta. So potential for recruiting strong players from strong programs. Fifth, in 5 years at TSF he won 4 national-level championships, so he has demonstrated success. Sixth, he can point to at least one current NBA player as someone he helped prepare for the League, Bones Hyland (rookie with Denver).

As far as I’m concerned, Jones can leave. I’ve no desire to see him elevated. We’d probably lose Belcher, which would be too bad, but I’m not convinced he’s HC material. I think Wills steps in as a full assistant. I’m guessing he’s loyal to Muller, but he did spend time at SIU, so I think he’s willing to do what’s necessary to grow in the coaching profession.

What say you?

No way in hell you do any sort of reassignment. That would be a cancer to the program. The time has come for Dan to go on his separate way.

Also, I can already see Muller lobbying that the Chatman injury is to blame for the Thursday night appearance and Mr. Sneaker (Brennan) falling for this (and a pathetic non conf slate) and bringing him back. Will make me sick.

The university is approving a 10+ million dollar bubble with the expectation rents will cover maintenance and upkeep? who is running this university for the love of god? I am in favor of cancelling the project and saving the money to build a REAL facility. The bubble will be an eye sore in no time. We will regret ever putting this up

BF72, I tried to get others to play. Seems nobody else thinks it’s worth their time. I guess they think whining is too time consuming.

I can't remember...has Dan rolled out the "but we're so young" excuse yet?

I guess it doesn't say upkeep specifically but I'm sure that's the idea.

Video of a BOR meeting last year was posted on the football board. Brennan was there to give a heads-up to the board that he was nearing a funding threshold for the IPF. He specifically said that he expected rentals to pay for all ongoing maintenance.

That’s coming. He did mention all the new parts a few weeks ago. But, never said they were young.
This year is "young in terms of playing together." LOL. The team he's rolling out with every night isn't young. The top 8 has a senior, 5 juniors, and a RS and true sophomore. Youth won't be the excuse this year. Inexperience playing together will be, coupled with the covid shut down and now Sy to round it out.
